Zen Garden > Why Fred Nurk Died a Pauper and Why You Might Too Unless You Make Some Life Enriching ChangesWealth and poverty - the two extremes of human existence. Read about poor old Fred who died a penniless pauper because he never stood for anything and he never believed in anything. He just tip-toed through life as quietly as he could and eventually died a lonely death.A couple of years ago I killed off a fictitious character that I used to like writing about. His name was Fred Nurk and he was the antithesis of what any successful person was about. Fred died in an article entitled: "What Words Will They Chisel Into Your Tombstone?" Briefly, just to fill you in on Fred... he was a guy who never really did anything. He never married and he never had any children. In fact he never had any personal relationships. He had no interests and he never talked much because he hated criticism. He smoked and drank and gambled and pretty much kept to himself. Poor old Fred died a penniless pauper because he never stood for anything and he never believed in anything. He just tip-toed through life as quietly as he could and eventually died a lonely death. If you don't want to end up like Fred Nurk - and I'm not saying that you will - then there are some steps that you can take:
If you take steps such as these to improve yourself then you are putting yourself on the road to success. Eventually your efforts will reap rewards. It may not happen as soon as you would like but it will definitely happen. Poor old Fred's tombstone reads as follows:
He was born. He lived. He died.” The Fred Nurks of this world are poor misguided souls. Because they do not have confidence in themselves or trust anybody they end up being sad and lonely people who end up living miserable, poverty-stricken lives. In this vast information age there is absolutely no reason why anybody should consign themself to this fate. Education and action is the key to your success and ultimate wealth.
