Having spent TEN unrewarding years in MLM or Network Marketing, as it is often known, I can say with great authority that this system of marketing is designed to backwash all the money up to the exalted few who sit at the very top of the pyramid. Yes, I know that occasionally some person will come along who will "build" an empire somewhere down in the lower echelons. But let me assure you - this is very rare. Most often it occurs when Boss Hog, who sits at the very top, wants one of his friends to "insulate" a line of sponsorship (ie a particular "leg") so that line is protected from "die back."

Die back occurs when the swirling mass of people in the lower levels are leaving faster than they can be replaced.

When a line of sponsorship is insulated in this manner new people are "parachuted" into that leg to bulk it up. In other words, it is artificially built.

Less than one third of one percent of total distributors in MLM make enough money to "retire" from their day job. What they get then is a "night" job - full of meetings, product launches, and very late night/early morning motivational sessions known throughout the industry as "counselling." You can interchange that word with correction.

To put this tiny number of king-pins into perspective, let's say that you have 300 people who are actively doing SOMETHING. It is a known fact that most MLM hopefuls do very little or nothing at all. Only ONE person in that 300 will make more money than they will spend when everything is taken into account.

In reality, with all the non-workers, you will realistically need somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500 people in total number.

MLM is inherently designed to suck as much money as possible out of the swirling masses in the low and mid levels and flush it all upline to the Boss Hog at the top.

If you are not that person at the top then all you will be doing is contributing to his or her flamboyant lifestyle. Keep buying those expensive products and all the tapes and books and function tickets that your upline so desperately needs you to buy.

Once you have no more money to contribute they will go out and sponsor the next donor.

But don't take my word for it, do your own search. Any search engine will back up my assertions. MLM went into meltdown when insiders like me went public and started revealing the most treasured secrets that the king pins so desperately wanted to keep hidden. That is why they are continually changing the names and the terms that they use.
