    Gary and Linda,

This is a powerful, powerful message. As I listened to Linda I became acutely aware of the profound truth she was presenting. Rather than pontificate here I have decided that Linda’s message will be the stimulus for a post on my blog which will be in place by the end of the weekend.

I hope that everyone will listen closely to this message in order to benefit from the wisdom it contains.

Again, THANK YOU Linda and Gary for presenting this message.

    Ken

  4. Gary

Hi Ken – Thanks for that. I’m just finishing up before tagging Linda in for the rest of the weekend – LOL!

Isn’t it great when something so strong stimulates your own mind to go into overdrive? I get these urges a lot after reading what other people have written or seeing what they have done or something else that I see and “connect” with. Then I write some notes into my IDEAS BOOK so I don’t forget.

Oddly enough – and I know I bung on about this – I get quite inspired listening to Noddy Holder belting out a Slade song. It is something about the unbridled power of this man’s voice that just “gets” me. If you watch a few of those You-Tube clips on my “music” post a few days back you will easily see what I mean. And he KNOWS he is doing it. I can tell by the look on his face. Even with the awesome volume he knows he still has a lot more, in reserve, to go – like he is still in second gear. He is very joyous of his ability and he “connects” with the huge crowds. And I think that the crowd senses it too. It’s an “electric reciprocation.” And that is a power in itself.

He seems to do almost nothing and this stentorian voice just rushes out almost as though it is being coaxed by some unseen force. When I hear that or I see another master of any craft do something so effortlessly like that then I can get in the “mood” and create things of value myself. I become inspired and the force (Hello Harry Harris!) can channel through me. I know this sounds very weird. So if I am weirding people out then my apologies. I’ll stop now. LOL!

  5. Paull Hamilton

    Hi Gary and Linda,

That was by far the best 5min 29 secs worth of information I have ever had the privilege of listening to. In such a tiny space of time Linda you managed to encapsulate all that was becoming a real worry to me and I´m pretty sure a lot of others as well.

At the moment I know what area of the I.M niche I want to promote, so as for my “store front”, I will be able to fill it with quite a few goodies but, I had felt that my own blog was becoming too diluted with other posts that were to off topic for my particular niche, and it was becoming more like a “diary”.

I appreciate what Alex has said to us all, in the fact that our blogs are our journey but, it´s needs to be a fine balance between off topic subjects and information that´s relevant to my potential clients, at the moment I don´t think I have the balance quite right.

As you also pointed out, the most difficult part in the situation that were all in at the moment is how do you sell to friends ? I know that Gary made a point of talking about this problem when it comes to promoting products to your list, I for one have a tiny list of people who downloaded my own Ebook but, they are all fellow students, so the problem is there straight away, in as much as I would feel very uncomfortable trying to “sell ice to my peers”.

Hopefully as thing progress the balance will shift between having only friends visit my blog, and I will start to attract potential clients who I won´t feel awkward selling to.

I am so very grateful to the pair of you for addressing this problem.

    All the best,

    Paull

Oh and by the way Linda, beautiful accent, it´s like velvet =O)

  6. Garry Parkes

    Hi Gary,

Just a quickie. Not had chance to listen to the audio yet and still catching up from yesterdays IE7 problems which I am just about to get a post up on how to resolve it as I know it effects a lot of other people.

Anyway, just wanted to say of course mate, I will keep an eye on your blog and help to keep it flowing. Can I have one of those swords though please and be allowed to turn into BAD-GaRRy if needed …… Bring it on :-)

    Have a great weekend away,

    See you Monday,
    Garry.

  7. Garry Parkes

    Linda,

Just listened the audio and how succinctly and clearly you put everything.

I am so glad that you shared the wisdom of your 14 years online from your humble beginnings to the success you obviously enjoy now.

I hope it inspires those that are doubting to keep focused on the task ahead. Everyone has got to remember here that is takes time to make things happen when building an Internet Business or any business for that matter. If it were easy, everyone would do it, but it is only those few that persevere that go on to make a success of things and then it does get easier.

It’s like any venture or new experience in life. Think about learning to drive a car, when you start out it can be very hard trying to think about it and coordinate everything together. It is hard, but once you have passed your test and have been driving a few years it is so easy and becomes second nature. But you’ve got to put all that hard effort in the first place with little initial reward. Most learning to drive won’t give up because the can see the goal and know they will get there in the end and that is far more appealing than just packing in.

It’s the same in business, give up and you’ll never get to the point of enjoying the fruits of your labour. But you really have to believe and visualize your end goal to keep you focused during those difficult early stages. But stick with it and as Linda say’s go can live your dream and go to work in just your “T-shirt and underwear” as she says or whatever else takes your fancy for that matter.

Thanks Linda for the great message and sharing your experiences.

    Garry

    Hi Linda and Gary,

Great content. Great motivation. Great words of wisdom. All packed in within 5 and a half minutes what would take many other people more than 50 minutes to convey. I love that.

Whether we do not really need this push, or we do need it, or we are desperate for it, you have made it available. It is also a further fantastic introduction to what you, Linda, can do and do do. (The first one being the driver behind the SEO stuff for Gary’s competition win.)

I’m very pleased I took the few minutes to listen. I was revved up anyway (albeit at MY pace, which is all I can ask for, isn’t it?), but it’s given me food for a few further thoughts.

Here’s hoping we hear more from you, Linda, in the future. (Gary: A further Honorary F500 member?)

    Take care both of you,

    Valerie

  10. Susan Livingstone

Linda, that was a great 5 minutes – well worth the time. Very heartening. I’m one of those people who have been floundering a lot and wondering why the light bulb goes off over so many other people’s heads while I frantically flip the switch up and down and continue to stare into a dark room.

Based on Gary’s recommendation, I visited your site and was very impressed. (Anybody reading this – Linda’s the real deal! Go check her out at http://www.lindacaroll.com!). What you say about having a product first and a “store” second makes perfect sense. I was never comfortable trying to blog about my journey, which I consider mostly private to me and not of any real interest to anyone else anyway. And I can’t pretend to be an expert on IM when I’m patently not. So I knew a piece of the puzzle was missing – what am I really here to do? There was little point in trying all of Alex’s suggestions for building a list when I had nothing to market to them anyway, so the result was, as always, that I built a pretty site and no one ever came. I still had no experience at driving traffic. Which is just as well, in retrospect, as there little chance I’d make much money off it.

Sadly (SO sadly), my finances won’t stretch to your terrific services. But if all I can have of your wisdom and experience is the 5 minutes I heard here for free, then I feel lucky.

So I’m left with this for a plan – quit trying to break into the cutthroat, oversaturated IM market. Go over to Commission Junction, like you suggest, and see what’s there that I can throw my interest and enthusiasm behind, then – using my already existing blog as a home base – begin building some sales pages for some niche affiliate products. Don’t know if I should have a separate blog offering quality content for each product I’m trying to sell – how much of that can one person juggle? – or if I should just concentrate on a handful of areas to target and throw up some minisites.

Aaaargh. Back to the same old questions! But at least I can replay your message when I need some encouraging, Linda, and many, many thanks for that.

    Warmly,
    Susan Livingstone

  11. Susan Livingstone

Say, does anybody here know why Commission Junction specifically states in their agreement that we are NOT to put any affiliate links in blogs? As my blog is my only viable online presence at the moment, I hesitate to sign up if the pc police are going to nab me for trying to do affiliate sales for CJ through it.

    Drat…

    Susan

  12. Nigel Yip

    Dear Gary and Linda,

Firstly thank you for all the support you have given me over the past few weeks, months and to me what seems like a year. It has been great knowing you both albeit Linda a few weeks.

What I like to say is that Linda, your words of wisdom and experience has been most encouraging and it just so happens that during the past few days I have been thinking and creating something along those lines too.

Also, I think you’ve highlighted a very important point which is about the empty mall/ storefront reality issue and you’re totally spot on about it and I couldn’t agree more with it.

Why? the building business first then friends later point made me remind myself of the biz ops magazines that I been running for 3 years until I ditched them earlier at the beginning of the year to concentrate my efforts online in the IM Niche.

You know what Gary? I think your Very Special Treat isn’t just only special, it’s an unlimited supply of golden nugget prize, something that is priceless.

Anyway, from listening to Linda message and I mean I have listened to it over 10 times now, it has reassured and even more confirmed that my decision is the correct choice and that what I am doing and planning to do is really what I want to do.

I am now focused but it’s not with the AJ Course, instead like some of the eager eyes F500 student spotters have said, I’m might still be in the IM Niche, but my focus and energies is on something else, something that is more inline with me and my aims.

I wish you Gary, Linda and everyone else – all the best and great success that you all deserve and who knows, we might bump into each other very soon.

    Nigel

  13. Linda

Ken, thank you. Do be sure to let us know when your post is up so we can pop over to read it too.

Paul, thank you. I know we’ve talked about this topic before and that it’s something that concerns you. Glad you enjoyed. P.S. What accent? lol

Garry… or whatever else, indeed. Thank you for the kind words and glad you enjoyed it.

Valerie… lol on the 50 minutes. You’re so right. It seems everyone is so pressed for time these days, so I try stay on topic lest I get off track and forget where I was. : )

Susan… that’s really interesting. I know many people using CJ on blogs. I’ll check into it and see what I can find out. I’ll post an update.

  14. Linda

Hey Nigel… just some food for thought. When you’re looking at other areas of the IM niche, imagine what the skills that you’re learning (from Alex) could do to help you grow IN that new area. For example, let’s pretend you decided to create your own product on YouTube for newbies. Can you see how building a list, getting exposure, etc., would help you grow? The techniques you are learning are not specific to selling Alex’s products… they are the same promotion skills you would use to promote any product. Best of luck to you on your new path.

  15. Garry Parkes

    @Susan,

Are you sure CJ exclude use of affiliate links in blogs? Seems nonsense to me as a blog really is no different to a typical website. I can understand possibly excluding them if the blog is not self hosted but I think all of us in the F500 have self hosted blogs now.

I’d be interested in anybodies experience with this.

    @Nigel,

Great to see you listened to the audio – and 10 times – Linda’s certainly had an impact on you, LOL.

I do wish you well for the future and as I said on my own blog – thanks for helping me out in the early days with the first promotional Video of the Profit Pulling Newsletter and also helping me along with video. It is much appreciated. I’m sure we will still see you around a lot and I certainly intend on monitoring your progress.

    @Linda :-)

  16. Tommy McLaughlin

    Hi Gazz-Man & Linda,

Nice to hear your MP3 Recording ….

I loved your ‘storefront’ example ….

I can understand all views, and have heard ‘the money’s in the list’ etc so many times.

I also agree with the comments on what Alex J is teaching….

Those that have been following me (so to speak) will know that …

2009 for me will be about product creation first

This may go against what others are teaching, but I let out a laugh when I heard Linda, does that mean I am on the right tracks?

I do however agree with the importance of Listbuilding, and believe this will take care of itself.

I personally felt I needed to create the products first and gain a respectability and presence online first.

Not sure if I am right with this path I am taking, and would welcome Gazz-Man’s and others opinions on this .

I have followed the Alex Jeffreys, John Thornhill and others for many years …

I have said also on my blog, I am working to my own timetable ….

this will remain the same, as I have mentioned before what amazes me is the way online friendships can be forged online ….

This is what has happened with the coaching, this in itself is positive and can lead to all different avenues and adventures…..

Now have gleamed lots of information from student blogs, I am excited and positive …..

and as Linda also stated, if you have a certain information or knowledge then create a product …..

I remember mentioning a few months back on Deano’s and this blog …

Look at knowledge as a candle, if you have the knowledge then let others light their candles from yours

I also plan to create a free ebook showing step by step what I did to create my first product of 2009 ….

Now, I appreciate everyone has different goals and wants in life …..

I guess I have my parents to thank for my drive and passion in all I do ….

The internet is still in its infancy, you can be anything you want to be …

I love that, remember to build your foundations though …..

You need to push yourself to be that anything …..

I am far from the finished article, by a long chalk ……

I hope by the end of 2009, it won’t be a case of as it is nowTommy Who?

I also hope I can meet all my targets, and in the imortal words of Del Trotter ……

This time next year we will be millionaires ……????

Maybe not millionaires, I will settle for comfortable and reasonably successfull

I have the mindset of being a success, so I will be ;-)

    Cheers

    Tommy

  17. Christine Howard

    Hi,

This was a very powerful message. I too feel like Nigel. What do I do next? I do not seem to be getting traffic and I only have one sign up. Despite trying to find ways of driving the traffic to my site.

I must admit I had not heard of Linda until I read the post on Gary’s blog.

I would appreciate any help or ideas on how to improve my traffic.

    Best wishes
    Christine

  18. Linda

    Back with a follow up on the CJ thing. But first… Susan, thank you for such an awesome comment. I just discovered it in the dungeon where I’m usually waiting and rescued it. I’m glad you liked the audio. Onto CJ… Garry (2R) was right. (no surprise) Here’s what their agreement says;

publishers may only promote advertisers on Web pages/sites/properties that they, themselves, own or operate. Publishers may not place affiliate links/tracking code, nor promote Web sites that contain affiliate links/tracking code, in or on third-party: forums, message boards, blog comment areas, classified advertisement services (such as CraigsList.org), etc., unless given permission from the third-party to do so.

So, if you’re a self-hosted blog, you’re okay. Third party – such as on a hosted blog or in blog comments – that’s not okay.

    Tommy! You said…

I also plan to create a free ebook showing step by step what I did to create my first product of 2009 ….

Now, that’s smart thinking! See, too many people create their first product and give it away. Then they have to create or find another product. In the meantime, their list is growing… but by the time they have something to promote to their list, half their list has forgotten who they are. lol.

Glad you liked the audio… and if claiming a niche and working on a product is your first focus, I’m with you. Because when you know your niche, you know who you want ON the list you’re building.

    Happy weekend.

Hi Christine, nice to meet you.

Where to start is always a good question. The first thing to know is that the skills you’re learning apply no matter what a person sells. Sure, you can “use” those skills to sell Alex’s products as an affiliate.

But even if you sold corsets, you’d still need the same skills. How to build a list of targeted prospects. How to get exposure. How to automate the parts of your business that can be automated. Etc.

So, it makes sense that an early step would be to choose whether you want to “only” sell Alex’s products, or if you want to sell something that you have more passion/interest in. Let’s say you sell a “how to” book that teaches people how to make a YouTube video. YouTube for Newbie Tubes. lol. If Alex’s program helps you sell more of your product, why wouldn’t you also want to tell other site owners about the product that helped you, and also make affiliate commission?

I made this graphic to show the “selection” process. Click here to view…

As you can see in the picture above, “how to make money online” products are only a wee, wee small segment of the many things you can sell online.

Imagine a huge bucket sitting under a tap. The tap has a slow drip. Drip… drip… drip. It will take thousands and thousands of droplets of water to fill the bucket. The bucket is “everything you can sell online.” “How to make money online” is just one drop in the bucket. One. And there’s lots of drops to choose from.

Choose one that fits you well and you’ll have FUN building your business. And isn’t that the point? Who wants to build a business that’s not fun to work in? : )

  20. Doug

    Hi Gary & Linda

The audio is great for any newbie starting out to follow. I’ve been online for just over 4 years and not had the same kind of success that Alex has had in less time.

Yet this is still something I want to do – don’t ask me why.

Being on Alex’s course has helped me immensly especially focusing on what I want. I feel at the moment, a lot of people are too focused on the competitions rather than what they actually want to do once the course has finished.

@Christine – I know how difficult it is to get traffic and it does take time and effort. This probably applies to everyone – so decide what niche you want to get into. Unfortunately IM or ‘make money online’ products are the hardest because there are so many people out there doing it who were doing it for years before the internet really took off.

I’ve felt the same as you many a time BUT I’m focused on succeeding however long it takes and I always remind myself why I’m doing all this work. One bit of advice – maybe find a subject away from the norm that people are looking for and go for something such as ‘prenatal yoga excercises’ for example then try and create your own product on that subject to build up a list plus the backend as Alex has shown us.

Just keep doing as Alex has said with the forums, blogs etc and make sure you have a backlink to your opt in page. There’s always Pay per Click but thats a different ball game and works better in the more obscure niches rather than IM or ‘money making’ etc.

I reckon if this was 5 – 10 years ago all of us would probably be getting big lists built right now due to the lack of competition. I’ve said to my partner “if I could go back in time armed with the knowledge I have now, I’d be a millionaire”.

I’ve wittered on enough now but as long as the F500, or however many are still going, are prepared to help, then there’s no reason why anyone in the group should fail. It’s all down to your psyche though. Get focused to succeed then do everything you can to achieve it. If you have any questions… ASK :)

    Regards
    Doug

  21. Susan Livingstone

For those who asked about Commission Junction and if I’m right about no affiliate links allowed in blogs – here’s a cut and paste of the pertinent part of their agreement (I capitalized ‘blogs’ to make it stand out):

They don’t specifically say the blog must be self hosted in order to be an exception, so I wasn’t sure what to think…. Perhaps that’s “understood” but legalese doesn’t usually assume things like that. Probably everybody is doing it anyway, so maybe I’m just reading something negative into it that no one else would think to do!

Ok, after posting the above I re-read the most recent comments and saw yours, Linda, that made clear what CJ’s policy on blog links really is. Feel much better now! I must not have read far enough. Shoot, who reads those agreements before clicking through anyway? It’s a miracle I did this time, and only ended up befuddled for my troubles…:)

    Thanks for the reply back!

    Hi Linda,

Excellent audio and the best advice i’ve head in 5mins for a long, long time.

Like many above, the empty store in a mall comparison really hits the nail on the head when it comes to the situation many now find themeselves in.

As you rightly say, what we have been learing on Alex’s coaching are essential strategies for success. The problem however is a lack of focus on our individual target markets. I wrote a post on my blog a few backs back stating the need to find a niche market, or sub-niche area within a market.

Now we have learnt traffic generation, list building and video techniques etc we can use them to be successful in a chosen niche.

I hope we get some more audios from you soon, great stuff….

When does your coaching program start, lol :)

    All the best
    Mark

    Hi Linda & Gary

Just managed to listen to Linda’s message on the laptop as it wouldn’t work on the main computer last night.

Linda that message hit straight to the point – I know that at the moment I don’t have goods for my store, but I do have ideas that I must investigate further.

Like many others I have the issues of uncertainty, treading a totally new path and offline issues like being a mum and running other businesses.

I was out all day at a fair selling cards, but talking to another vendor she was looking for information about how to get going on the net and I’ve offered to send her details of what I’ve done. So you never know where you might meet people who would be interested in what you are doing – don’t limit yourself to the internet to find your list!

That said, this is such a kick to me to really get going on focussing on my niche so that I can move forward. But as I’ve said in several comments I have learned so much and met so many poeple through doing this course that even if I didn’t make any money (and of course I want and need to!) what I have paid for the course has been worth it so far.

Our lives are made up of interconnecting series of learning. Sometimes the connections are obvious and at other times they are not. It is only later and with hindsight that we see how they fir into the overall picture.

I like the picture of our lives being like the back of a tapestry where we can see all the loose ends and rough stitching. It is only when we can see the front that we see the whole picture.

I know that I have such a long way to go to even get to the place that so many other F500 students are already at, but I’m not letting that worry me.

I was listening to an interview that Mike Litman did with Frank McKinney today

Whoops, must have accidentally touched the submit on the laptop, so this is part 2.

Frank was saying that we should not try to follow someone else exactly, but to take our own path (learning of course from others). Only in that way can we truly move forward. I need to listen to the interview again to take more from it.

Anyway I feel that at the moment, we are all in a position to help each other move forward. There is so much knowledge and help available here that no-one should be afraid to ask for help and advice if they need it. I will certainly be back with my thoughts when I’ve focussed a little more.

But thanks so much for your words, Linda. May each one of us take from them what we need to hear.

    Hilary

  26. Denis Caron

    Hi Linda:

Thanks much for the wonderful words of wisdom. It appears that so many of us are at the same crossroads-so armed with all this new information that our heads are bursting-but not knowing what to do with it all.

One point of this course bothers me. Alex tells us that we don’t have to get it right or perfect, just get it going. But he also says that our blogs need to be interesting and sticky. So if we are going through all this effort to acquire traffic, but then visitors appear at an empty storefront or boring blog, they will not come back. So for that reason, I’m in the midst of my third blog change (the new one to be revealed soon) and I don’t care-because they’re only getting better-new theme new focus. I’ve basically put everything else on the back burner (I really wasn’t getting any traffic or sign ups anyway) to get my new direction-and then it’s full steam ahead. I have six posts written, ready to go, but why “waste” them now?

So to all my fellow students-the only competitor that you have is yourself. The only timetable that you have is your own. The only goal set, is the one that is set by you. The only path that can be traveled by you, is the path that you choose. I truly believe that we would not have come this far, if it were not for each other. Don’t give up. Success will come.

I raise my glass to you all…Salute!

    Denis

  27. Gary

    You poor devils!

Now I know EXACTLY what it is like when you come to my blog after a couple of days of not visiting.

I have just got back from my “Ding-Dong” weekend in Dunsborough in the southwest of Western Australia, right on the Indian Ocean. So, I crank up “Typhoon,” as my computer is called, and what do I find?

Well… let me tell you what I said… “JESUS CHRIST!”

Aaaaaargh! My email box looked like a line of black bull-ants disappearing at the top and bottom of my screen for several folds. So, I started opening them all, deleting all the junk and putting red flags next to all the ones I had to answer. Now I have this massive line of red flags disappearing at the top and bottom of my screen for several folds.

I have NO IDEA how I am gonna answer them all – so if you sent me an email, PLEASE – be patient. Some emails in themselves look like one of my monolithic blog posts – dear oh dear! If I get this many emails then HOW MANY must Alex Jeffreys get?

    Now to my blog…

Thank you to Linda Caroll especially and the others who chipped in and answered those who had questions.

While I am on that… A BIG THANK YOU to all those people who made a comment above. This blog would be NOTHING without you. Seriously, it wouldn’t. I do very much appreciate each and every comment that is made. Sure, I could sit here all day and waffle to myself. But the interaction with YOU is what makes it so special.

And if there is one thing that I am noted for – and big on – it is this – helping anybody who wants to GROW and become the person that they truly want to be. I have been doing it offline for over 35 years and online for about the last 6 years. Nothing pleases me more than to see people take their own baton and to run with it for all they are worth or, even better, when they become bigger and better and stronger, to pass that baton on to the next runner.

While I was “down south” I did a lot of thinking and I did a little bit of writing and I am committed to bringing you something very special from me over the next couple of weeks. All I need is some “SPARE” (LOL) time to pull it all together. But it is on my mind and I have written the script

    THE “DING-DONG” WEEKEND…

OK. Where did I go over the weekend? I went to the Amberley Festival – which is really a nice name for a high-class booze up with wine and seafood (sorry Nix – I know how much you hate seafood and even the smell of it) held at a very large and very exclusive vineyard.

At $140 per head it was a brilliant event with live entertainment, fine wine, fantastic food and great company and NO idiot drunks and violence which spoils almost every event in Australia these days. Quite simply, the high-price tag and the glitterati of it all combined with a big security presence ensured that the usual hoons and goons and bufoons were nowhere to be seen. Thank God!

Our party of 10 went to the event in a monstrous stretch limosine with all the fineries inside – eg leather seats and bar etc, etc. It was rather “special” when the all-day event ended and hundreds and hundreds of people were flocking outside into the massive car-park. Everyone else boarded busses but “some” people got picked up by a chauffer in a very long stretch limo which was the ONLY ONE in the carpark. I thought there would be more of them but our party had the only one. That was tough!

It amused me to hear all the comments like “who are those people?” etc etc. And several dozen curious folks came up to the windows and looked inside and asked who we were. I should have been a hell of a lot sharper and had a big sign with Gazz-Man Express and my http://www.motivationselfesteem.com/talk URL emblazoned on the side. LOL! That would have been a real hoot! And, oddly enough, it has given me an IDEA…

Anyway, I am back. Thank you all once again and special thanks to Linda.

    Hi Gary,

Welcome back, I see you had a great time.

All nice and refreshed now ready for whatever comes your way.

I didn’t have much to do looking after your blog mate. Or should I say I wasn’t quick enough off the mark as after my first couple of comments Linda was to damn efficient, LOL!

Anyway, I see that last email I was hoping to get to before you departed for the weekend never got to you in time :-( When you get chance let me know what you think now that you’ve had time to reflect on things :-)

    Garry

  30. Gary

    Hi Garry,

Yeah, I did have a great time. We were very well looked after and had a prime table at the event. There were also a LOT of “interesting” sights – particularly the “ladies” at the table just ahead of us. Naturally, I sussed the situation out in a flash and positioned myself very “strategically” for maximum exercise of my optic nerves. They were in need of a workout after looking at this damn screen for so long lately.

Glad I had my Porsche sunnies on that don’t allow anybody to see where I am looking. OMG! I mean… if they are gonna be that overt then I don’t mind being a bit covert.

I needed that break Garry. I was working like a maniac on this blog and with all the other projects I have going on. Now I get back and I am WAY behind but I don’t care. I’m just pacing myself.

Thanks for being you. You know what I mean.

    Gary

    Hi Linda and Gary,

Thankyou for the audio message. I’m sure that this is just what a lot of us need to hear right now.

So far, I have only seen limited results but I am doing this part time so it is a long term project for me. I am not giving up on my blog and the IM niche. I have begun to write an e book and I will continue with that and other objectives that I have on my list.

I will also consider re-visiting some of my previous work promoting physical products with the aim of putting up sites that require little or no attention once established. Maybe this will yield a bit of cash to oil the wheels that keep the machine running.

I feel for Nigel and wish him well in whatever he decides to do. I can also relate to Christine Howard and I will be contacting her to offer some help.

    Thanks for the inspiration.
    Ken

I know you’ve been away ~ and must have been champing at the bit to get back here. I just wanted to say to both you and Linda a big THANK YOU for posting this topic here.

And especially to you GARY, as I know you’re very busy, for coming over and adding to my thread about what to do with my blog as Alex’s Program winds down.

    Your words are much appreciated.

    Go well GazzMan,

    Stephen

  33. Gary

@ Ken – I think the long term view is the way to go. I could load this site with enough stuff to sink a damn battleship but I am not going to. I will load progressively the things I want here and over a period of time. I am taking the long term approach.

@ Stephen – Well thank you for thanking me Stephen – LOL! I was toying around with the notion of bringing my comment from your blog over here but Linda Caroll has me feeling a bit self-conscious of quoting myself and she is probably correct. Like, I don’t see anybody ELSE doing that. And I have done it more than a few times – LOL! I can see how it can be viewed as rather very self-serving. I wasn’t really thinking about that until Linda pointed it out to me. So, if anybody wants to read it then you’ll have to click on Stephen’s link above and pay him a visit.

Thankyou so much for posting Linda’s audio. It was very inspiring.

I have been trying to make a living online for almost 4 years now and had something going which did make money with very little effort on my part BUT I got distracted and went off in different directions seeking the internet marketing dream.

The result has been I’ve spent HOURS over the computer, trying to do too much, too soon ,and made myself ill to the point I may have to give it up altogether. It’s not my choice.

For those of you with doubts, listen to Linda and focus on what it is you are interested in and don’t give up.

I really do feel as though many, many people now are at a critical point in their journey with this Alex Jeffreys’ coaching. I am seeing comments all over the place, many are expressing despair. This is where the rubber is either gonna hit the road or slide your vehicle right off the track. I implore you to push through. Hang in there.

NOTICE: I just want to take this opportunity to let everyone know that Garry Parkes’ Profit Pulling Project newsletter #4 is due out this week. Hopefully, there will be some information in there that people can use to help themselves.

    Gary

  40. Linda

Hi there… just wanted to pop in with my 2 cents worth. Gary, you said…

I agree, but with a caveat. And a strong one. People feel frustration and despair when their gut is telling them something is missing the mark.

You have a whole group of people that are learning “internet marketing” skills – but they have nothing to market, except Alex’s products. For a lot of them, that in itself will create internal conflict. Why? Because, in a sense, that puts them in a position where they are selling “how to make money online” materials when they themselves have not made any money online. And that’s bound to push the moral buttons.

That’s why I made the audio I made.

Alex is teaching good information. But, IMHO, he is missing an element. Even HE did not start with an online diary blog to chart his “journey.” If what I’ve read about him is true, he started by selling stuff on ebay. He did not have an empty store at the mall. (ie; per the analogy in the audio)

There’s a saying by Peter Drucker that I like… he said “There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all

I think the people that are confused would be best to stop and ponder. Figure out what they would be proud to sell, preferably in an area they can talk about several times a week via content creation. Find a focus and a direction. Then apply everything they are learning in the course TO that.

And that may not “fit” everyone. There will be people who are content to follow the course through just as is. There will be people that are content not to sell anything but Alex’s products. And those are fine, too. But for those feeling discontent, there is a reason for their discontent. It may be just that they need to find their focus and their field – and then apply what they are learning to it. Only they can hear the whisperings of their gut.

We are each on our OWN journey, and our gut tells us when we’re on track, or missing it by “that” much.

  41. Ken Douglas

    Gary,

Once again Linda speaks with wisdom. I agree with her comments about internal conflict. I think (at least from a personal standpoint) having a “product” you have choosen rather than one which someone has provided provides a stimulus for greater passion in your activities. I know that once I committed to a product of my own choosing I was able to use the tools I had learned from Alex to remove the roadblocks that occurred and was able to own the results I obtained and continue with a greater confidence.

I also agree with her comment that if you feel ( in my own words) frustration that there is a cause. Just as with an illness, it is much better to identify the underlying cause and treat that rather than to chase the symptoms.

As I have mentioned in my blog posts we as a group have arrived at the point that we each must begin to plot our own course. Paraphrasing a quote I read this morning from J.R.R. Tolkien ” All who wander are not lost”. We each must find our own direction. For some this will be a direct line. Others of us will “wander” a bit before we find our calling. There is no right or wrong as long as we move foward and are satisfied in our own being with our progress. It is when we begin to point a finger to blame another for our shortcomings that we begin to fail.

    Ken

  42. Linda

    Ken… RE

Paraphrasing a quote I read this morning from J.R.R. Tolkien ” All who wander are not lost”.

So true. Usually, I’m just looking for my keys. lol. But seriously, that’s what it amounts to. Wandering around, not lost, but looking for the key that turns YOUR engine.

And you’re right that blaming is where failure starts. My family must be sick of me saying “blamers are lamers” (heh) Blame solves nothing. The question isn’t “whose fault” it’s “what next?”

P.S. Thank you for the kind words. Now I’m off to make a brain map, because I have so many things on my plate that if I don’t sort them, I’m liable to get busy doing all the wrong stuff.

  43. Richard Moloney

    Hi Gary and Linda

I have not been here as often as I should have been but having read all the comments and the answers I have to agree with those who enthused about the audio, it really does give excellent information.

Having only been involved with the internet for about 5 months I feel like an outsider at this all. My first involvement with blogs and social marketing has been since I started Alex’s course and I still am not 100% comfortable with the process but i’m getting there.

I have only had 1 person sign up to recieve Alex’s e book and have tried many things to get traffic to the blog. My best day to date has been 21 visitors but I have had many days with 0 visitors. Despite getting these visitors very few leave comments on my blog posts.

I have seen comments on the fortunate 500 about my blog from other students but for some reason they do not leave them on my blog. Any ideas why?

I feel frustrated that I seem to be going nowhere fast and slightly lost as to the way forward however Linda’s audio has helped to clear my mind on that. Any and all advice, comment positive or negative will be welcomed.

    Richard

  44. Paull Hamilton

    Hi Gary and Linda,

Welcome back Gary, it sounds as though you had a great time at the weekend, hopefully you recharged your batteries back to full capacity ?

This is completely off topic but, I just wanted to say how sorry I am to see the utter carnage that the fires have caused to certain parts of your beautiful continent. My Mum received an email from her cousin who lives pretty close to the problem area, thank God he and his family are all safe and accounted for.

If, and when they catch the vermin who have lit more fires than just the ones that Mother nature had a hand in they need putting up against a wall and shooting, and then be packed off to Hell for a taste of their own medicine !

    Best wishes,

    Paull

@ Linda – I couldn’t agree with you more. Everything you said above was spot on and NOW I AM gonna go and grab that comment I made at Stephen Bray‘s blog and QUOTE MYSELF HERE as it is very much along the same lines as what you just said.

OK Linda, brace yourself. I know you will be amused but here is what Gary Simpson said over at Stephen Bray’s blog.

    “Hi Stephen,

I could write pages here for you but I won’t.

What I will say is this – what would you do EVEN if there were NO money in it ? It’s all to do with passion that so many others have touched on.

Next, I will say – at the risk of sounding churlish and condescending – most people are TOTALLY MISSING THE POINT! Alex Jeffreys has given everybody one of his products for two reasons:

1 – He KNEW that MOST people had NOTHING of their own to make money with – so he “GAVE” them something to “hang their hat on” – as a TEMPORARY measure. That was while they developed SOMETHING of their own. He started the ball rolling for people by telling them to create an e-book about what they have learned. But most have not.

2 – For those who are HAPPY to sell Alex Jeffreys’ products and coaching – those people are perfectly placed for when he brings out his next coaching course – OH YEAH – there will be another course. He would be crazy NOT to ride this internet marketing tsunami all the way to the bank.

I am taking the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS option. I can sell HIS materials and coaching and also promote MY motivational material – none of which I have even loaded onto my site yet.

I don’t see why others cannot be doing the same – even IF they have nothing of their own they can go to many of the reseller sites like Clickbank and engage in some affiliate product programme that they like and can endorse. What is so damn hard about that?

I REPEAT what I have said several times now – and something that Garry Parkes has now identified with (and several others too) – you CANNOT smash three years of learning into three months. YOU CAN’T! And that is why so many people are antsy about it. Coz THAT is what they are expecting to do.

THIS is a LEARNING phase NOT an EARNING phase.

People on this course need to EVOLVE and metamophosize into their OWN genres. That takes TIME. For some that will be the IM niche. For others it will be something else. For some, like me, it will be a combination of the two.

We must each seek out our own destinies. Infortunately, for some that will mean that they will quit. But others will see this coaching course as a catalyst from which they can launch their own niche sites.

I wish everybody in the F500 could see what I am saying here. But alas they will not. Far too many are way too concerned with reaping before they sow and – SADLY – they are missing the point of the coaching in its basic entirety.

Sorry to sermonise but that is what I believe.

    Thanks for the opportunity Stephen.

    Gary SIMPSON”

And that is what he said… LOL!

    Gary

PS: I hope you all know how much I was trying to AVOID doing that. But now that I have – I feel better.

  48. Gary

@ Ken – Now I want to quote you coz this bit of what you said is WELL worth repeating:

“We each must find our own direction. For some this will be a direct line. Others of us will “wander” a bit before we find our calling. There is no right or wrong as long as we move foward and are satisfied in our own being with our progress. It is when we begin to point a finger to blame another for our shortcomings that we begin to fail.”

Does this defy Google’s duplicate content no-no. Probably, and I couldn’t care less. I just want to help people understand this and if it penalizes me quoting big chunks of text then too effen bad.

    Brilliantly said Ken!

    Gary

  49. Linda

I hope you all know how much I was trying to AVOID doing that. But now that I have – I feel better.

Lol. What’s that old saying…. let me think. Oh, yes… your actions speak so loudly that I can not hear what you say…

    Just razzing you a tad.

  50. Gary

Note to Linda: Razz me all you want babes. I am in a very feisty mood right now – as somebody has already stated on Parkesy’s blog this morning (for me anyway) LOL!

    Time to quote YOU!

And you’re right that blaming is where failure starts. My family must be sick of me saying “blamers are lamers” (heh) Blame solves nothing. The question isn’t “whose fault” it’s “what next?”

    100% agreed!

… and grab a coffee or whatever “poison” you drink and have a quick read (if that is possible) then just “clone” your site around some of the bits that you are comfortable with. But, for God’s sake don’t do these two things:

    1 – quote yourself

2 – refer to yourself as the R-Man, or whatever.

Only kidding. I have a lot of FUN doing my “thing” but in between all the zany stuff and innuendo and playing with words and double entendres etc etc I try very hard to make this a place where people can come and learn something good.

Richard, if I wasn’t so damn flat out I’d come over right now and hit your blog but I am snowed under and I am desperately trying to get time to do a mp3 audio and a quick video, which are on my list. But I have added a visit to you to that list as well. Put the kettle on mate coz I will be over, it’s just a matter of when.

    Gary

  52. Gary

@ Paull – I reckon it’s OK to go off topic when you feel for other people’s plight.

Regarding the fires in Melbourne, Australia. Yes they are SHOCKING. It is all we are hearing about over here. It totally dominates ALL news media.

The fact that 171 people have been murdered (authorities are reporting that dozens of fires were deliberately lit), 5,000 people are homeless, 750 homes have been razed and 330,000 hectares of land have been scorched is galling. That some total MORON or MORONS could have driven all over the place to light these fires on a day when the temperatures were above 110F and winds were blowing at 60mph is just incredibly unbelievable. But that is apparently what has happened.

As you know I am on the extreme west of the country. Melbourne is some 2,500 miles away to the east. But EVERY year we have the same sort of nut cases do exactly the same thing here.

I don’t know what is in the heads of these people. Nothing I expect.

    Thanks for your concern.

    Gary

  53. Gary

Hi Joan – I’m glad you are enjoying Linda’s recording and comments.

Regarding the fires in Melbourne – thank you for your sentiments. I am sure that Coleen Cook and Paul Mracek are having to cope with breathing in days and days of thick black smoke. Even Dean Hohn on the island of Tasmania (off the south-eastern tip of Oz) will probably be copping the smoke.

This is a tragedy of unparalleled proportions – the worst fires we have ever encountered. The loss of life and property is shocking, as is the cremation of all our wild animals.

Somebody must be brought to account for all this death and destruction but the way that our authorities have been taken-over by the social engineers, the cuprits, if caught, will probably be “counselled” – especially if they are minors. All manner of money and resources will be thrown at them to learn why they did it. Then they will serve a pissant sentence, be re-located, housed with a new identity and off we go again.

I know where I would house them. In a bloody penetentiary for the remainder of their miserable lives – doing HARD time. But that just won’t happen – NOT in this country.

Joan, thank you for your concern. Unfortunately, we see this sort of thing FAR too often these days. There is NO deterrent and very, very little punishment.

    Gary

  54. Garry Parkes

    Hi Gary,

    Just quoting your comment

I am in a very feisty mood right now – as somebody has already stated on Parkesy’s blog this morning

Yes, you have certainly caused a lively debate over at my place. But that’s good – healthy debate is useful for everyone so I certainly do not mind at all.

Regarding your excellent comment on Stephen Brays blog that you re-quoted here and picking out just one line from it

THIS is a LEARNING phase NOT an EARNING phase.

I feel the same as you, there have been many in a mad rush to make money before they get the business foundations and fundamentals in place first. I know exactly the direction I want to be going in over the next 3 months and further out the year ahead. And making money is NOT the top of that list. One key phrase that Alex Jeffreys likes to use is

“Don’t chase the money, let money chase you”

I know some people are getting frustrated at the moment but I do believe many are focusing on the wrong things. This is a long-term business we are building here. It may be worthwhile just stepping back a little and revaluate – even listen to some of the Webinars again to make sure you have not missed something you should be doing.

The Profit Pulling Project Newsletter is out later this week an in that I quote some amazing figures, that just shows the progress that can be made in just two short months. And it’s still early days yet!

As always I’m always willing to offer any help I can on my blog. Just ask and I’ll try my best.

    Garry

  55. John Halderman

    Wow,

What a great recording Linda and it sure hit home for many.

I agree with most of what has been said here, from the top on down.

I think everyone here is somewhere between knowing very specifically what they want for their business and those that want to find a way to gain some financial independence but not sure how.

And as has been said, we each need to listen to our heart, our inner guidance. Alex’s coaching is a good learning field but certainly not the only track one should take with their business.

We all must decide at some point when we will choose to steer our focus more towards our own specific focus. For many who choose not to keep up a IM blog, don’t think that all this work has been for naught. You will be surpirsed at how quickly you are able to set up a new blog of your choosing and start working with it.

Another point I would like to address is that I hope we all can keep together as a group even when many move away from the IM focus. There is not reason whay we cannot continue to help each other andf support each other in whatever niche we are in. Keeping a relationship here can be a great win from this program.

There will be possible business and JV opportunities here as well. And as some are concerned about selling products t each other, as we spread out out niche focii (that’s plural for focus right!) we may just find that we are not all selling the same stuff. As Alex has said, and we can see, success has a lot to do with who you associate with. This community can grow together to be far greater even than now if we keep it up.

And Nigel, since you started all this! A good thing really – see you’ve helped again! Whatever you have chosen to do there is no reason why you can’t remain in this group – I think I’m speaking for most here. You were just a pioneer, the first to say “this IM stuff is not what I want”, there will be more.

And I’m sure there are some in the 500 that did not even start the IM blog for this reason. Perhaps now is the time to try to reach out more to those that have been on the fringes with this and re-invite them in.

    . . . Just a few thoughts

    John

  56. Gary

@ Garry – Yeah, I did arc up a bit at your blog today. Still, robust debate is good. Glad you picked up on my learning and earning comment. I was hoping that somebody would. I do throw a few nuggets among the shovels of everything else that I let fly with.

@ John – You have obviously sorted your way through the fog that others are yet to emerge from, get completely lost in, or return from whence they came. Good post John.

    Hey Gary,

I thought I pop by to see how things were going along and Thank You for leaving comment on my blog. I think there has been a massive confusion of what exactly I am quitting – I’ve made it clear on my blog with one of my recent blog post and so I hope you don’t mind occupying a small space on your blog to tell everyone as well and that is:

To quote from my own blog:

“I am only Quitting the AJ Course but I’m NOT Quitting making money online or Internet Marketing. So OK, I need to spend time refocusing on the latter topic”

Like some of the eagle eye spotting students which have seen and I quote from them that “I’m simply diversifying myself, re-diverting and concentrating my focus and efforts and passion which were lost to something more inline with me, but it will be still be related to making money online.

Anyway, I hope you are well – speak soon
    Nigel

PS: John: thanks for your wonderful comment – and just wondering how did I help at all? I thought I was causing problems for everyone with my quitting.

  58. Gary

    Thanks Nigel.

  59. Nigel Yip

    Hey Gary

Interesting reply lol – I guess you must be busy – speak soon – I’ve just published another new ebook/report on video/ebay.

  60. James

    Hi Gary

I was very interested to read what you have written regarding bringing your comment on Stephen Bray’s blog over to the Temple.

It’s true that that kind of thing could be misinterpreted as being self-serving; and I like the solution you originally implemented, as well as
admiring your modesty in giving Linda credit for pointing out the issue.

The fact is, though, that it wasn’t for selfish reasons that you were going to ‘quote yourself’. You just wanted us ALL to benefit from your words, rather than only those of us who got around to visiting Stephen’s blog. Hopefully, everyone will do just that, as you suggest. Stephen’s blog is, of course, well worth visiting anyway, and I for one hope that he doesn’t take it down.

    BUT

this does highlight an important fact; ie that your blog (and Gary’s) are, in our community, Special Cases.

I think we would all agree that, in the absence of a truly centralised comprehensive community arena, your blogs have been fulfilling some very real needs of the community, on various levels.

This was not ‘designed into’ the structure of the 500 group, and is not merely an example of a positive feedback systems mechanism. It is not even a direct result of the inadequacies of the so-called support suite. It is a credit to your perspicacity, generosity and sheer hard work.

When this program started, there WAS no community: just a large group of Alex Jeffreys students, each individually hoping to improve their lives by following Alex’s instructions to build an online business. A forum wasn’t provided, or, apparently, required.

Fascinatingly, however, the community developed as an emergent system; and now you, like all of us, are to a certain extent constrained by its characteristics.

And one characteristic is that, if a community member wants to have a reasonable chance of ‘everyone’ seeing their message, they pretty much have to write it on either Gary’s or Garry’s blog. This is because, despite some students’ efforts at providing purpose-built ones, nevertheless, effectively, your blogs ARE our forum.

At the very least, a member needs to go to that ‘forum’ and announce their blog post, hoping that at least some people will click through and read it.

With my lack of experience, I know relatively little about blog etiquette; but I would think that in normal circumstances, continually doing this would amount to effrontery. Neither of you treats it as such, which is a testament to your forbearance and generous hospitality. But perhaps there is an argument for your blogs having different ‘rules’ from the rest, anyway.

And if so, maybe Linda’s ‘no-quote’ advice, while quite proper for the rest of us on our own blogs, shouldn’t always apply to you (or indeed Gary). Maybe, in view of its ‘forum’ status, you are entitled to post your own words on your own blog; because despite having been written for just one of us, your message will benefit all.

  61. James

    ps

    Having said all that (!),

I agree that it’s a mistake to think you can ‘smash three years of learning into three months’.

However, perhaps we should remember that Alex’s sales video told prospective students “I’ve done the learning for you”, and that the package would make setting up a quickly-profitable business “push-button simple”, and end their days of “putting in hour after hour without seeing a penny”.

So maybe we shouldn’t entirely blame hopeful students for jumping to the wrong conclusions about what to expect in the short term.

    Best regards,

    James

@ Nigel – Yes… frightfully busy but I’m wondering what else you want me to do or say. You left, supposedly.

I thanked you sincerely above in the body of the page, Linda wrote an entire impassioned mp3 about you, there has been an out-pouring of emotion over your decision to ‘leave” here, on your blog and on many other blogs. I have also been to your blog and thanked you for helping others in the past and I wished you good luck for the future.

I know you had this all planned from a month ago (coz it’s evident on my blog here – I was looking at it last night – the F13 thing) but I’m wondering what is really going on coz, for all intents and purposes, apart from your statement that you are leaving you are still all over the blogs and nothing seems to be any different. It actually seems like you never left at all. So, I am confused by what you are doing and hoping to achieve. Maybe you would like to explain it.

@ James – VERY perceptive, my friend. MY ultimate reason was indeed to spread what I said. I know Stephen Bray has a very good blog but, as you also pointed out, the two Gary/Garry blogs are now hubs of information, as is Dean Holland‘s from time to time. THAT is why I brought it here. To share the message around a bit more.

James, I pretty much agree with everything you said. And if a person wants to “advertize” something – so long as it doesn’t go on and on and on like a Tim Whats-His-Name infomercial I really don’t mind. And you are CORRECT AGAIN when you say that it restricts Garry Parkes and me coz neither of us wants to abandon ANYONE!

    Gary

  64. Gary

@ James – you have MORE? LOL! Hard to disagree with any of your double-dip either.

Let me say this… Alex Jeffreys is a young man, a very enthusiastic young man. He has achieved – in a very short time – what others have not achieved in 3, 5, 7 and even 10 years in Internet Marketing. Good luck to him. He “found” the formula and everything fell into place for him. As he says, he kept falling forward.

With his youth and natural exhuberance he has done and said things that he hasn’t followed through with. Yes, the “help desk” was attrocious but he is addressing it. “Managing” 500 “students” by himself was an IMPOSSIBILITY from the start. That is why Parkesy and I stepped up to fill the breach. That’s no disrespect intended for Alex Jeffreys or anyone else either. We just saw a need and we filled it.

Alex is learning too. Sure he has made mistakes. We all have. I bugger up more things than I get correct. But I also do a LOT of things and I have a huge work ethic and tremendous discipline. 25% of 100 things is still more than 50% of 10 things. In fact, it’s 5 times as much (25 versus 5).

I’m not being too hard on the guy. His heart is in the right place and that’s all that counts with me. Truly. As Norman Vincent Peale said (I THINK it was him)… “People don’t care how much you know, they want to know how much you care.” Now I may have buggered that up too – both in the author and in the exact words. But the sentiment is there.

@ Joan – Hi. Come back and say more! LOL!

    Gary

  65. James

I agree with you 100% about Alex, and I’m saying so on my blog.
(yes, I do have a home to go to!) He may be a bit impetuous, but one meaning of that word is ‘having great impetus’, so, ’nuff said. He’s a man of integrity, and I hope he can retain that as he heads off into the big-time with Glenn. Alex’s achievement so far has been amazing and exemplary, and we’re lucky to have been able to have him pass on to us some of what he’s learned so avidly.

I’d also like to reiterate my thanks (on behalf of all) to you and Garry for “filling the breach”, although of course you’ve done far more than just that.

I like your quote, wherever it came from. It’s always a comfort to have the importance of one’s ignorance underplayed!

I enjoyed the maths class too… seriously, though, that’s a very important lesson about goal-setting and time-management that deserves a post of its own.

    Best regards,

    James

James – I just went over to your blog after reading what you said above and you have made MANY, MANY very fine points and I thoroughly commend you for them. Hence, my reply to you over there at James-Land.

    Hi Gary

I’m sorry to have confused you and, you’re totally right in one of your previous blog post comments and that is: I didn’t know what the heck I was doing, I was completely lost and basically didn’t value what I have and have also been a impatient young idiot git, who openly expresses myself without realizing that the consequences of what I express would have such a shift of attitude and influence.

I was basically a fool and didn’t look at the long term picture. I guess one could have said that, I, the driver and the owner of the NY bullet train had traveled far too fast round an embanked corner, which caused a massive derailment and shot down the side of the cliff side injuring many people along the process.

Not only that, I took everyone’s support for granted and so I like to make a public apology speech both here and on my post very shortly and that is, I am awfully sorry to have caused such mass dilemma and that I truly value everyone support. You are all a wonderful, great, inspiring, supportive group of guys and gals who deserve every success in the world has to offer and more, that includes admiration and respect.

For it not be the efforts that you guys and gals, and as group invest as a whole, then the world would stop spinning and progression of human society would cease to exist.

And Gary, this is personally for you,

I have learnt many valuable lessons from you and it is my loss, that I have not have been able to implement them. Not only that, I greatly admire, appreciate, value and treasure the length and depth, time and effort that you wholeheartedly, invested into everyone one of us, especially me, the foolish young guy.

You have been ever-so generous with your support, and so deservedly win the Google contest. And if there was any competition, contest or even a Nobel Prize in Motivation, Literature, or even both, then you deserve to win them all and more than anyone else I know.

Not to forget, Linda’s message was probably one of the best out of many superb golden nugget gifts that you have offered us, it has also really caused me to think, re-assess, reflect and re-focus on what I really want.

    All the best
    Nigel

    Hi Gary,

I hope you do not mind me asking this question here. I noticed you have a sign up box at the top of your blog and the list building link at the bottom, is there any reason for this? Could you tell me do you get sign ups having the box on the blog. I have a picture then it goes to the other page to sign up. Would appreciate your thoughts.

    Best wishes
    Christine

  70. Gary

@ Nigel – Thank you for that. Are you telling us that you have re-considered and are returning to the F500 membership? Coz I am still a bit confused. Pardon me for saying this but it would seem that you are too.

@ Christine – Not 100% sure of what you mean there. Are you asking why the Alex Jeffreys Aweber sign in is above the Action Planner Aweber sign in? They both go to Aweber subby lists. Yes I DO get “sign-ups” but you’ll have to give me a few more details for me to answer this properly for you.

    Gary

  71. Christine Howard

    Hi Gary,

I will try and explain a little more. At the top you have a mini squeeze page with a sign up box with people to put their name and address in on your blog which says it leads to part 1 a video and part 2 the ebook. Where does this take them to?

At the bottom you have the picture of Alex Jeffreys list building which I presume leads to a squeeze page like mine.

I hope you can understand this.

    Best wishes
    Christine

  72. James Woodfield

    Hi, Gary

Thanks for the compliment on my blog post! Very kind. I didn’t do much online yesterday except post a message for Valentine’s day, because my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. But I’m back now, and as you kindly suggested, I’ve brought with me my observation about where we all find ourselves in this enterprise, when I wrote that people should

“realise just how far we’ve come on this journey.
The horizon may not seem any nearer, but our starting point has been left far behind, and we’re into a totally different landscape now.”

Students will note that Alex has sent us all a very nice email, which should
    encourage everyone.

In it, he pretty much confirms our assessment of the situation, describing the support problems as growing-pains associated with the rapid 500% growth of his business.

He says, loud enough for even those who have fallen back, or drifted some way away, to hear: “I DONT WANT TO LEAVE YOU BEHIND”.

And he assures us that he’s prepared to make more modules, and bring in experts to give bonus ones, on the areas in which students still need support.

You can’t say fairer than that, can you.

So everyone should take heart. You mentioned Shakespeare; well, to those fearing failure: “screw your courage to the sticking-place, and we’ll not fail.”

    Best wishes,
    James
