Christmas 2008 & New Year 2009
by Gary ~ December 24th, 2008
And so it is Christmas Eve 2008. How the year has flown…
I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and very Happy Christmas 2008 and a wonderful New Year looking ahead to 2009.
I have decided to post the link to my FREE “Time in Motion” ACTION Planner here because I am aware that the link (to the right) is not displaying correctly on ALL browsers (thanks Susan! … and I don’t have time to fix it right now). So here is a picture of the cover…

And here is how you can get it:
Finally, here is a poem that I have always loved, a copy of which adorns my office wall.
A New Day
This is the beginning of a new day,
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good,
But what I do today is important because
I am exchanging a day of my life for it!
When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever,
Leaving in its place something that I have traded for it.
I want it to be gain, and not loss,
Good and not evil; success and not failure;
In order that I shall not regret
The price that I have paid for it.

Best Wishes

Hi Gary,
I LOVE this! Your Action Planner is something that will really help me with, well, planning (of course!). I really needed something like this to help keep me focused and more organized. I printed a copy of the poem too, just had to have it!
I’ve been on your blog for almost 2 hours now. I was mesmerized (well, it IS almost 4am.)! Thanks for all of the great info!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Hi Tommy – Well, that’s just the way I feel. If you look on my blog roll you will see that I have installed you as an Honorary Member. Like I said, if it were up to me you’d be “in like Flynn.” Well, you never know… I have put some “feelers” out. Let’s just see what happens, huh? I really like your tutes too!
Hi Lori! – that is a WONDERFUL recommendation. I just knew that it would really HELP people. I am a meticulous planner and organiser and I do stuff like that without hardly thinking any more but I know that not everyone is super-duper organised. Glad you liked the poem too. I really love the message in it. What? You’ve been on my blog for 2 HOURS? You are mesmerised? Gee. That is a wonderful compliment. Thank you very, very much.
Regards to you both. And, Lori, get some sleep! LOL!

No post of yours is truly complete without the ramblings of the Nixster from the Nickelodeon, so here I am!!
Back at the parents now, and the cold I’ve been trying to fight off for a couple of weeks has snuck up on me – how rude! So won’t be quite as active online over the next couple of days as I had planned.
I will be doing a new blog post though, but first I must get dressed and go and meet my friends for lunch – after all, that’s a good way of spending my Christmas Eve!
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a superbly prosperous New Year (that goes to all of you!).
Take care,
Nix

Hi Gary,
Guess we are all getting our final posts up before Christmas day. The poem is a nice touch Gary.
I wish you a very Happy Christmas and Prosperous 2009 my friend. You have helped me a lot over the last month (is it really only that long) but I will forever remember it. We’ll have that pint in the Tavern hopefully sooner than I could have imagined just a few short weeks ago.
I wish success and more importantly happiness to all the readers of all the student sites.

Nixster – Of course it isn’t! You know you are on my A list, darls. LOL! Ditto Nix. I can see big things on the horizon for you. And at your age you have many years of fantastic adventure in front of you. Have a few JW’s on the rox – medicinally, of course.
Harry B. deMille – Now Hazza, you gotta get my proper title sorted out. After all you are Harry B. deMille. So, here it is:
- Teacher of Master Yoda.
Nice Yoda talk, incidentally. I can tell you are right into Star Wars! LOL!
Thanks for the compliment Harry. I really do appreciate it.
Regards to Nix and Hazza.

Hey Gary,
I glad you liked my video and I suppose I will have to left you off the ‘ya smart arse’ remark, you probably right, LOL
Have a wonderful Christmas and many thanks for your advice over the pas few weeks, i have 3×5 cards eveywhere, lol.
The ebook is fantastic, your blog full of great content and you always make me laugh
Good idea putting the optin on the main page. Btw, I can see the one in the sidebar ok but it is hanging off the edge. You can sort that out in the aweber code, no problem for you, I know you love the techie stuff, lol.
Have a good one and I will speak to you soon!
All the best

Hi Parkesy – Likewise my friend. You have helped ME a lot too. It is a symbiotic relationship (look that one up in your lexicon – LOL!). Seriously, this TEAM is destined for greatness. I can foresee it. Yes, we will have a pint (or two) together in the coming year. Glad to give you the “heads up” on that WF matter over on your forum. And excellent to see your rapid response to that. I think we saved some newbie souls there from crucifixion. There is a lot of experience around the 500.
Hi Mark – You are in my A-List dude so don’t get too cocky. LOL! That 3″x5″ card idea will drive you crazy but… when you MASTER it – whoa – it will put $$$ in your pocket. Thanks for the positive feedback. I am so glad to make people laugh here. My family are sick and tired of my jokes. Now I have a whole NEW group of victims! Oh, Mark! Give me a few clues about the Aweber hangover. How do I fix it? So glad you like the ACTION Planner. I have had SPECTACULAR feedback on that!
Hi Colin Yep. That is why I put that poem up there. I am hoping that ALL the Alex Jeffreys students pinch that poem and hang it up by their computers and use it as impetus to do EXTRA-ORDINARY things. Many already are. This is a PHENOMENALLY talented and caring TEAM! Glad you swiped the book. That is designed to force the talent out. The ones who USE it will look back at the end of the month and say to themselves… “Holy SH*T! Look what I have achieved!” It will become a record of achievement and great pride.
Regards & Merry Christmas guys!

Hey Garry,
Not going to rub you up the wrong way, your a black belt aren’t you! LOL
Get the raw html code for the web form not the javascript snippet. In the code you will see a ’size value’ for the optin boxes, I think the default is 20, try 15 and see how that looks.
If you get stuck, not that you would, I have full faith in your powers of course (trying to regain some ground here, LOL) just send me an email with the code and I will sort it.
Speak soon mate,
Mark

Hi Mark – What are ya doin’ mate, spyin’ on me? LOL!
I think I can manage that. It’s helpful to have you techies around. I could waste hours on crap like that.
I guess you didn’t see I had put you in my “GOLD A-LIST” – and that is precisely the reason why.
Thanks Mark

Hey Gary, nice book
I just got done looking at your book, I really like how you included the identiication of wasted time. The first step to changing a habit is to ID it first. I put a dig for the book on my latest blogpost. Many people try to change their behavior but have trouble because they don’t look into what they are doing now and how it may be preventing the new behavior.
The poem is nice as well. I’ve seen it before but nice to be refreshed once in a while.
Thanks,
John

Hi Jeff – I wanna know about blog carnivals. I’ll be over after Christmas (it’s Christmas morning here in Oz right now as I type this – everyone else is still in Nod-land).
Hi John – Glad you like my ACTION Planner. You are 100% correct. To fix a problem you first have to identifiy it. That is 50%. Glad you like the poem too. It is one of my all time faves. I read it a lot.
Hi Joan – Hope the ACTION Planner helps you too. When I wrote it I had in mind the VAST potential of this team of 500 and what it could achieve collectively if EVERYONE had a clear action path.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS folks!

Gary,
I very much appreciate your eBook and plan to put it to very good use.
The poem is great also I plan on copying it an place it with another thought on my wall which has had a place of prominence for years. It is also a thought which we should keep in mind as we chase this crazy online grail we have chosen to follow. It is the following simple statement:
Happiness is the journey not the destination!
Here’s hoping you have a very wonderful holiday season!

Hi Ken – it is Christmas day here right now. We have just come back from a Chrissie Brekkie and soon we will be off to a Chrissie Lunchie. I’m just maximising “down” time – LOL! So glad you have seen the value in the ACTION Planner. Lots of students have them now and that really pleases me. What you said:
is so true. I am always happier looking forward to a holiday than when I am on the holiday itself. I think it all has to do with imagination. I wish you a GREAT festive period too!
Hi Dan – Goodness gracious… look at the time you are beavering away at! – 1.03am on X-mas morning. Well done! Thanks for the compliment and another vote of confidence for the ACTION Planner. I’m gonna have to be right on my game now… giving away all these “Gazza-secret-weapons” – LOL! An e-book cover creator will be dangerous for me – but I’m gonna get it anyway – you see, I just know that I will “play” with it. I LOVE creative stuff.
Thanks guys and all the best!

Hi Gary (with the single ‘r’)
So you finally got your lazy backside over to my Blog to say ‘Hello’ eh…after all this time…There’s me beginning to wonder what I had done to upset you!
Had I made some comment on your own piece of real estate in the past that you didn’t agree with?
Was it because I’m just an elderly simple soul with one brain cell who sometimes goes waffling on into the realms of fantasy without rhyme or reason on a journey to who knows where!
Or was it because I’m just another ‘Winging Pom’ on the other side of the world that you see as second best to all you have in your land of plenty…I mean who wants to live in a land that’s ‘Sunny’ all the time…all that heat and those nice ’sandy beaches’ and a nice warm sea that you can swim in without seeing your personal bits shrink to the size of a peanut as happens over here…Well that just can’t be good for you can it?
And who decided you get to celebrate ‘Christmas and New Year’ earlier than the rest of us!!!…It’s an Aussie takeover in the making I’m sure!
Just because you’ve also got the Best Cricket team in the world…not like the bunch of @!-+%^* we have over here!
Is there nothing you lot are not good at…better than the rest of us?
I know it’s ‘Winging’…Yep that’s one title you will never take away from us…were the ‘World Champions’ at that one matey!!!
And while I’m having a good ‘winge’ at you here…fancy coming over to my Blog and telling me to get rid of the calender at the top of my page!…If I do that how the heck am I going to be able to tell what day it is for goodness sake!…others may well know where they are but ME I haven’t a clue most of time…and that about sums up everything about me…I think
Now don’t take as long to get over again and self promote yourself as usual…And don’t tell me you’ve been ‘Busy’ building your business…I bet it’s because of the never ending stream of ‘Barbies’ and the quaffing of ‘Tinnies’ that’s been keeping you ‘Busy’ over there.
Well it’s Christmas morning over here now and I’m scribing to you on the other side of the world…no wonder my family think I’m nuts!
I suppose I had better wish you a ‘Very Happy Christmas’ and a ‘Prosperous New Year’ for 2009…but I don’t suppose you will notice as your probably as ‘Drunk as a Skunk’ and so full of ‘Turkey’ your oblivious to everything that’s going on around you!
So when you sober up just spare a thought for your distant cousins over here…after all were all ‘family’ aren’t we!
Cheers (Hic!)

December 25th, 2008 at 8:58 am
Hi Ted – Just got back from Christmas Lunch – ham, turkey, lobster (we call it crayfish), spuds, vegies and yes… a few beers and topped off with a glass of Shiraz.
Heh… Ted – our Aussie cricket team got its pants pulled down this week by South Africa (you know… those people who don’t park the car – they pork the core). We got done by 6 wickets on a dead flat pitch. I think the ten year reign as world champions is coming to an end.
Now, Ted, when I come back I wanna see that calendar GONE. Alex Jeffreys has told everyone else to get rid of them. Really, you could be using that spot to promote something important.
I am always wary of people who downgrade their own intelligence – usually a tactic to get under everyone’s guard. So I will have my eye on you. LOL!
Seriously, I have been flat out like a lizard drinkin’. There are SO many people to interact with and everybody has a promotion of some sort. And then there is twitter and then there is the “Fortunate 500″ and well… really… it never ends. It just takes time to do the circuit.
Just to give you some idea of my activity – yesterday I wrote into my journal 78 separate entries – ie people’s blogs I commented on, a bit of my own site maintenance (also sadly lacking) and added 41 new entries to my blogeroo. It’s just so time intensive. So, sorry for the apparent lack of reciprocation. It ain’t intended.
Thanks for responding. I’ll try to get over more often.
Regards
Gary

Well it’s 4.33am on Boxing Day – December 26, 2008 over here in Oz and I am awake EARLY again as my son is flying interstate this morning to visit his girlfriend at this ungodly hour. So, while I am waiting for him to finish getting ready, here I am! And I have had three visitors overnight.
Hi Rob – Ah… another newcomer. I must get over to see you and reciprocate. Actually, I’m getting a bit concerned about these reciprocal links and extensive blogeroos that we are putting up. There is a huge discussion on over at http://www.JoeTrueman.com about Google coming down on us with the huge SLAP that they are so wonderfully noted for. You know… THEY want to have all these great RELEVANT links but if you do it too well as a group they think YOU are trying to manipulate THEM and then they flush you right out of the great Google sphincter. Thanks Bob for yet another endorsement of my Time in Motion ACTION Planner. I’ll come over ASAP.
Hi Paul – That Alexa ranking is OLD. Oddly they haven’y indexed my site for over a week and I am expecting it to come down several 100,000 shortly. I have put in a POWER of work here and added content BIG TIME. Yeah, my ears ache for hours afterwards and I usually get a splitting headache. That is called PAYING the price. LOL!
Hi Thomas! – Welcome to one of my GOLD LIST members (see the honour Roll of “A” Listers on the RHS of my MAIN page if that sounds goofy and you will see what I mean). I think I am gonna start calling you “Tommy Gun” – you see folks, Thomas made this very helpful video that he whanged up on You-Tube about PERMALINKS. He used my Gary-Land blogsite as an example and I used his clear instructions to fix the little permalink problem I had. These techies are very clever dudes – much smarter than me when it comes to all the little tricks of the trade. But I am LEARNING.
Thomas I am so glad that I have been able to help you too dude! My 73 page “Time in Motion” ACTION Planner is giving lots of the students a real purpose and method to all this madness. Soon, those who have it will be as organized as me! Then I will lose my unfair advantage over them – LOL!
Thanks for stopping by guys!

Hey Gary
Hope you’re having a great Xmas.
I know the blogroll issue has been in great contest over the past few days. It’s good that people are finding their own ways around this problem. Just wanted to let you know I have come up with a simple solution that may help some people. Hope you can take the time to visit my blog and leave some feedback about it. Your input would be much appreciated.

G’day Gazza
you’ve sure got a busy site going on here! You need to be super organised to be keeping up with all the posts, comments and important income generating stuff!
Hey I downloaded the manual a couple of days back. Been looking through. Great stuff – good habit to review what took us out of play during the day. Also like the quotes. I’ve got a daily quotes post going over in Fovoland where i try to link it in somewhow to what we’re doing….there’s room for improvement yet!
But why am I really here….just wondering if you have an electronic version of the manual? I already task up the days using my own template on excel and it would be great to use this instead. I can’t really remember the last time I actually wrote anything much….it’s all done on excel ir word or something these days for me!
If you have that’d be cool, or if you can find time to do that’d be likewise.
Secondly though, the daily evaluation part got me thinking. What if it went one step further and the format of the manual could be added into a website – public accountability holds a lot of sway when you say out loud you’re gonna do something.
But even further…let other people rank your daily evaluation along with you! How we perceive our day vs how others perceive our day can be interesting – can pick us up if we’re thinking down, or be a wake up call if we’re falling alseep on the perch.
Not only are you managing your day, you’re getting feedback, support and traffic into the equation too!
Anyway…some thoughts to consider, maybe just the ramblings of a mad kiwi but I reckon it could be a neat tool.
Over in Fovoland I’ve got a page going with us Fortunate 500’s listed in it….yeah like everyone else. I’m also adding a couple of sentences for everyone to describe what area or niche they’re going to be in post Alex. If you’re in the neigbourhood please drop in a leave a comment about where you’re heading and I’ll add it alongside your link. Must have a look over in the discussions about google getting cranky about all these links too though!
Cheers mate,
Bernard
