Alex Jeffreys Brainstorm #2 Roundup

Hello fellow followers of Alex Jeffreys,
Whew, what a session Brainstorm #2 was! I have yet another headache from the almost 7 hour marathon. Again, thanks a LOT Alex!
I got up at 3.30am to ready myself for this and I was still at the computer, complete with headphones, at 10.30am (Perth, Western Australia time, that is). Yes, I am going the EXTRA mile… or miles.
I noted – with interest – that only some 130 to 140 others were on this call out of a potential of 500 people. Yes, I know, many of those MIA probably had work or family committments but I wonder how many chose to watch TV or go to a booze up instead? Hmm. And the number dropped to around 90 or so as the session ploughed on.
I hear people complaining about early times-late times and committment a fair bit and it just rolls off me like H20 off a duck’s back. Wait till some folks read my little MOTIVATIONAL MOMENT in Garry Parkes’ forthcoming Profit Pulling Project Newsletter #2. Watch out!
Anyway, what did I learn at Brainstorm #2?
First, there are some TERRIFIC weblog sites among the student membership. I particularly like Mark Austin’s and I have told him so previously on his blog. I also like Andre (the “Norwegian Connection”) Thomassen‘s blog very much. It is hot! Well done Andre!
Next, I find the “Twitter” stuff interesting but I am unsure if I could add it to my already heavy workload. I reckon I could be a prime TWIT on that thing. I can imagine you all nodding your heads! LOL.
Then, I need to investigate what is happening on some blogs that I have made annotations for in my notes. These blogs belong to, in no particular order… Daniel’s D-Marketing, Richard Moloney, Rich Schefren (heh… why not learn off this guy?), the writing style of Thomas Northrop (I will be “analyzing” you dude!), Dostin‘s OTO query, Paul Mracek‘s little icon thingy-ma-jig (Alex mentioned something about Matt Garrett… and Billy the Kid? on that).
Next, JT spoke about Paypal issues (boy, do I have ISSUES with Paypal) and the chicletts for social bookmarking AND Serge Krasnay seems to KNOW what is happening there too. So, I need to see both these guys to sort out PP – coz they (PP… hmm, what else does PP stand for? “P*** POOR!”) just don’t like giving sensible answers to ticketed questions – just get rid of you from the queue. Very unhelpful PP! (I said in an earlier post somewhere that I was gonna pay-out on PP! – just a touch of “Bad Gazza” there.)
When I emailed Paypal and said I had done something a dozen times and it still wouldn’t work do you know what some genius “helper” at PP replied with? “Check your work again.” GRRRRRRR! That is just a DH reply.
Finally, Harry Harris – that is FUNNY stuff you have going on at your Harry B deMille Film Production studio. Even funnier is that you have allowed ME to go nuts over there and play the character of “Gazza-wan-san, the Jedi-Samurai – Teacher of Master Yoda.” You have really got my creative juices flowing. And THAT could be dangerous!
And before I forget – if you haven’t downloaded your copy of my “Time-in-Motion” ACTION PLanner then, well… IMHO you just aren’t serious enough about your success in 2009. I wrote this thing for you guys and I will be keeping a watchful eye on who has it and who hasn’t – and ALSO who has only done the single opt-in so far. Remember, I have Jedi capabilities!

Hi Tom – I try hard to be helpful and somewhat humorous for everybody. Hope that wasn’t just a cut and paste comment from you there. I did say I had Jedi capabilities. I better not see that EXACT comment on 20 other blogs or you will go on my D list – LOL! Just on that point… I know who many of the serial “cut and pasters” are. I have you folks on an internal list, marked D. That is the list I get to when I have finished with the A’s, the B’s and the C’s. And I also have a “watch” list.

Hey Gaz-Man – you know why I haven’t opted in to your superb Action Planner, but I’ll keep that as a secret between a Jedi master & his understudy!!! If you would prefer I also add my name to your list to download it (so that it adds me on your mailing list) then I’d be happy to do so…
…I’ve got it printed off and am taking it to the parents with me for Xmas – that way, when I’m lying on the sofa too full to move, I can be filling it all in & making my year plan, 90 day plan, etc. By the way, feel free to use the ‘first impressions’ info I emailed you – you can quote me on whatever you like!
I still don’t have internet access at home, and my work pc won’t let me download the right software for the webinars – that’s my reason for being MIA last night! Will be online at the parents though so over Xmas I shall be catching up big-time…

Nix – yeah, I was waxing and waning over the spelling. It’s like colour. If you use the UK/Oz spelling in html you will get zippo. It’s gotta be color. So, if in doubt, I just go for the US version.
“Smoulderingly sultry” is definitely very apt. I reckon you will get a flood of guys tearing over there after they read this. I gotta say Nix you have got the IQ happening too. The total package – LOL!

Thanks for the update on today’s call. I have made a few notes. Did Alex say when the rest of the Modules will be? I am not pleased at all that I missed todays session and it is difficult to plan out in advance when we don’t know the dates and times for the rest of the Modules. I will go back and check the members area again to see if there has been an update.
You talk about commitments, planning, focus and dedication. Mmmm. Little hard to do with only half the information I would say!!
I have had a look at your Planner. Very nice work indeed. I use something very similar myself and it certainly makes life alot easier that’s for sure. Organisation is the key to productivity I believe.
For those Students that need help in the area of forward planning your efforts will aid them greatly Gary so I do hope that they take advantage of your e-book.

Appreciate a critique on my theme. I spent literally hours checking out all 500odd, still don’t know whether I like it now …comments please, bearing in mind it’s in it’s raw (Yea ok rough) state.

Have you had any problems posting to Thomas Northrops site? I noticed tonight that you mentioned him in your post and it prompted me to return to his site for another visit.
Only thing is every time I attempt to leave a comment, a message comes up saying that I am trying to post ‘duplicate content’. His latest story is very entertaining indeed and I wanted to invite him to join us in the antics over at my site.

Hi Gary,
Just plugged your Project X over on my blog. Quite honestly the more people who get this the better. Particularly those that are really doing things in a haphazard way with little overall plan or direction. They’ll get a lot of benefit from it as will everyone who really wants to make progress towards their goals of building a successful online business. Great stuff and the real key to our success is found within its pages.
Managed to get on the call late last night as I was out with friends. Well, I say late – there were still 3 hours to go!! Like you surprised there were only about 140 on the call.
I’ve finally managed to get my post up on generating traffic for the competition. I reveal all about the ‘surprise’ I mentioned that I would yesterday. Already some surprising comments coming in about it. But I’m going to cause a right stir tomorrow as well.

Gary – RE: ACTION PLANNER – where is it to download?! Probably you mention on a previous post, so I’ll submit this comment and root around in your site to see if I can find it (how’s about putting a link to it in your right sidebar?). Once I do, can I give you credit and make it available on my site for my readers (both of them)? If not, that’s fine…I’ll make use of it for myself.
Meanwhile, I’ve updated my own site, including having 2 ways to get to Alex’s ebook, a link to Twitter me – the account of which I just opened and it’s like reaching one mountain top just to see another, higher one I have to scale. Man, the learning curve never straightens out, does it? So if you’d kindly have a look and offer your comments, I’d feel honored.
I think I’ve figured out my problem – I have to be drugged and dragged to social events, and when I’m there, I can be found sipping the non-alcoholic drink behind the potted palm. All this putting myself out there and socializing – even virutally – is gonna be a challenge. But hey, that’s my problem aaaaand…just realized I probably oughta write a blog about it.

Gary – found the action planner. Reason it wasn’t obvious is because you have a common problem with your blog – the right sidebar has been pushed down below your blog postings. When the page opens up (I’m using IE 6.0.2) your right sidebar is just a blank space – the stuff on it doesn’t show up until you scroll to the bottom of the posts – then the post area becomes blank and the sidebar stuff is all you can see. I’m guessing all the people using the same browser I am (and that’s a fair few) might be having the same trouble…
Worth a tweak, if you can do it!

Sandra – YOUR “copy and paste” is PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE. You did it the SMART way. I do the same myself. I carry the bit I want in my cut and paste and then I work around it to personalise it at the blog I am on. What I object to is a bland comment that is pimped around EVERY blog you go to. That rankles me. Why? Because it is so UTTERLY INSINCERE and it is just a lousy technique designed to fool people. And I aint no fool. But you did WELL Sandra.
Colin – Over at Parkesys’ you said you had a rant and well… I gotta say… I LOVE carefully crafted RANTS. You can learn so much from them. And I DO like strong opinions – even if I disagree with them. So, I went to your blog and I looked around and I just couldn’t find it on the link you gave. Sorry. But if you want feedback then I have to say that you need to provide the promise in an obvious spot – like directly on the link you give. If you want to post that direct link here then I will certainly go and read it and comment. Come on! Give us the rant link!
Coleen – Not YOU again! LOL! Cols, I haven’t noticed anything unusual at Northrup-Land but that “duplicate message” appears on many of the blogs. If you get interrupted and then forget if you have pressed send and then do it twice it will show that message. Thomas is a gifted writer. I like his style – very different to mine but I like it nonetheless. People can learn a lot from studying the styles of the different writers we have here. I know I keep saying that over and over but they can. I have even noticed the illustrious Mr Garry Parkes starting to weave some techniques into his writing. Jeez that guy is a fast learner!
Nix – now it is YOU again. Nix, you will notice that I do a fair bit of what I call “cross-pollenation” on the blogs. I am drawing others into the madness of others – LOL! I know who the players are.
Parkesy – speak of the devil. Howdy man. Gazza, I have seen what you wrote about my now uncloaked Project X – aka the “Time-in-Motion” ACTION Planner e-book and it was WONDERFUL. Thank you so much. I hope you don’t mind the WARNING that I put there about the WF. (see what I did there folks? Bet you are wondering what all that is about. Betcha you want to go and see, huh?)

Came over from Garry Parkes blog to see if I could download the action planner – not found it yet but based on the comments ablove, I’ll try looking around a bit more for it.
Re PayPal – I’ve have my problems in the past .. and yes I know exactly what you mean about useless answers and the fever pitch frustration it induces. Nowadays, I try once and then escalate it to “file a complaint”. The people who deal with the complaints have brains and have always answered emails with their names and contact details and got it sorted. I’m not one to advocate escalating things, but in PayPal’s case, I’ve had rapid results. I recommend it!
