    That’s great advice Gary!

A night at the movies is JUST what I need right now, though I must admit… I don’t think “The Girl Who Played With Fire” is one I will rush out to see :)

Think I’ll check and see what else is showing right now… and I’ll definitely switch my mobile off before I go in, nothing worse than constant interruptions when trying to relax.

    See ya

  3. Nikki (Purple Minxy Witch)

Taking time out to relax should be a vital part of our lives, but how often do we tell ourselves we don’t have time for that? I’m guilty of it myself, I’m often rushing around from one thing to the next, when really I should have an evening where I don’t have anything planned (or in fact have something relaxing & entertaining planned).

One thing I like to do is visit my local beauty salon for a little pampering. I’ve had a couple of things done there, but the treatment facial I had was unbelievably relaxing. In fact I’ve just had a look at their website and I see they are doing an offer on a hot stone massage, so I might go and treat myself to one of those. That’s one way I can guarantee that I’ll actually take some time out and relax!

As for films, well, there hasn’t been anything particularly exciting on recently, I enjoyed The Expendables for some escapism a couple of months ago, but nothing has particularly grabbed me & made me want to go to the cinema.

Thanks for the reminder to take some time out for ourselves…

    Nikki / PMW

  4. Stephen Bray

    Gazzman,

Thanks for this. It’s so nice to read
an expert on motivation writing about
    relaxation, rather than constantly
keeping our noses to the grindstone.

    As a copywriter I find there’s a time
in the production of any serious piece
of writing where, after the research is
done, it becomes impossible to write in
    an outstanding way.

That is the day to go for a swim; drink
a few glasses of Pinot Noir; slap the
wife on the bum; and then take a nap!

Voila, aujourd doi la grande idée arrive,
    n’est-ce pas, espérons en anglais?

    Stephen

P.S. BTW is that Stieg Larssen film
any good? I think I have it as a video
but haven’t had time to watch it yet.
Hard at it, and all that!

  5. Chris

    Hi Gary,

I have seen the “Girl Who Played With Fire” and thought it was just ok. I agree the first one was a lot better. It was entertaining but for some reason I didn’t think it was all that special. I also watched “Red” yesterday and it was quite a disappointment even though it had Malkovich in it.
Sometimes I find it entertaining to just watch a Sherlock Holmes episode or an Agatha Christie detective story like Poirot. You are right that the movies are a great escape.

  6. Lisa

    Hi Gary! :)
Love movies…can’t watch anything with any suspense or blood! Too much stress and gives me nightmares! I figure I have enough stress and tension in my life that I don’t need to go pay for some more! sometimes I have a hard time watching my fav show CSI:Miami!

    Ok, ok…I’m a wimp!

I have been putting in so much time to get my product complete and when I have all done…relaxation time! I might take Nikki’s advice and get a massage. Hmmm…sounds good to me!

I have been putting an hour a day working in my business, just about an hour is all I have, and I have got so much done over the last few weeks!
    No more busy work!
    Real action work!

Hope you have a wonderfully amazing day!! :)

    Lisa~

  7. Gary

@ Collette – The better one is the first movie in the series.

@ Nix – whatever it is that relaxes you is good. None of us are gonna live forever so we might as well take time out to do something we enjoy from time to time. What is the saying? “All work and no play makes Jill a dull girl.”

@ Stephen – copywriters of all people simply must get up and walk away from their “masterpieces.” When you come back you will invariably see all sorts of holes in what you believed a PERFECT piece. The pinot noir sounds good. And YES – the first film was excellent. I have a review here on my blog. The link is on this page.

@ Chris – well, it’s good that we all have differnt tastes in movies. I’m looking forward to going to see the “Social Networking” movie. Many critics have given it 10/10! We shall see…

@ Lisa – I used to enjoy watching Criminal Minds but I have to admit that the gratuitous violence and gore is pretty sickening now. So, I only watch it occasionally. I don’t mind blood if it is germane to the story but to include violence, swearing and/or deviant behaviour just to shock people tells me that there is very little substance in the movie. Glad to hear you are powering away with your product.

Thanks to everyone here for making comments. I have a new Life Tips post that I cannot wait to put on my blog. In fact, I’m gonna do it now.

    Gary

  8. Stephen Bray

Last evening I had a choice of
    watching ‘Desert Flower’, the
    autobiography of Somalian
    supermodel Waris Dirie.

A nomad circumcised at 3, sold in marriage
at 13 to a man who looks even older
than the Gazzman, Waris fled from Africa
and is now at the age of 38, the UN
    spokeswoman against circumcision.

This is a film all about ‘Motivation
    and Self Esteem’.

    Highly recommended for those who
aspire to success whilst living through
    adversity.

    Stephen

  9. Chris

Hi Gary. Enjoy the movie. Saw it today and it is well worth it.

  10. Gary

@ Stephen – thanks for informing us of this movie. I shall have to enquire about it. HUH? What was that reference to some cretin looking even older than me? You’ll keep. LOL!

@ Chris – Glad you enjoyed it. It pleases me when I can point others to things that entertain or please them.

    Gary

  11. Nikki (Purple Minxy Witch)

@Lisa, yep, got to love a bit of David Caruso and his terrible one-liners!! I too love CSI: Miami and the original CSI (in Las Vegas) – my brother and I tend to watch them together in the evening if we find that they are on.

As for the massage, go for it, you’ll feel so much better!

    Nikki / PMW
