Internet Marketing Tips #4 – Gary Simpson
by Gary ~ August 6th, 2009
Well, HELLO THERE! Here I am with yet another one of my short videos about Internet Marketing Tips. This is number 4 in an ongoing series. I hope you are enjoying watching these and maybe learning something – even if that’s only how nutty I can be.
If you have seen Internet Marketing Tips #1 then you might recall that in it there was a certain truck with a billboard on the side advertising… hmm… shall we say… “Ladies of the Night.” Well, I have only just noticed that vehicle makes yet another appearance in the background of this video. So… does it just chuck bog-laps (Aussie term for doing a continuous circuit looking for “like-minded people”) around the strip or was it following ME?
Anyway, this short video is all about taking ACTION. Lemme ask you this – do you want to wear out or would you rather just rust out? The choice is yours.
Speaking of choice… if you don’t yet have my free e-book “The Power of Choice” then you are seriously missing out on some MAJOR motivation. And if you don’t have my ACTION Planner well, why make it difficult for yourself when I have made it SO EASY for you to plan and achieve. (How do you think I crank out these mega valuable free e-books so fast? Huh?)
Anyway, sit back and enjoy the video – watch for the truck and also the TGM tee-shirt (which I forgot I was even wearing until prompted).

Gary,
Another spot on tip. I think one of the biggest reasons tha people fail to act is based upon their fear of failure. What they don’t realize that by not taking action they are manifesting their fear and are in fact failing.
Comfort also can also prevent us from acting. When we reach a certain comfort level(professionally, socially, financially etc.), we filter our actions by the way they might impact our comfort level. If the action may cause us to put our comfort at risk we fail to act. In fact it often some degree of discomfort that will ultimately bring us to action.
Speaking of taking action your tip has provided me with a perfect platform to blatently pimp my blog. After several month of inactivity there I am taking action and making some major changes.I would invite you to make a visit and comment about the changes I have made and those I propose.

Ahhh – my old mate Ken! Yep, it’s a pretty obvious tip but… how many people overlook it – MANY people!
Can’t disagree with anything you said there. And… lovely segue too! LOL!
OF COURSE I will zip over and take a look.
Heh… heh… you said:
You came to the right place Ken. TGM was the BIGGEST pimp on the pimp lounge in Las Vegas. I had a bevy of beauties surrounding me – Paula Brett, Lesley Morgan, Nikki Stephens – they all spent time on TGM’s pimp lounge with Puff Gazzy. All I needed was the 24 carat gold motor bike chain around my neck, some crocodile skin shoes and a pair of hideously over-sized Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses and I would’ve REALLY looked the part. Maybe my shirt unbuttoned down to my navel too. Yeah!
Oh dear, I think I’ll leave it at that. I do hope that Mike Ottman swings by and sees this comment.

Puff Gazzy? Oh dear! Pimp Master General.
As for Mike, he’s probably still recovering from those comments he left in the MWA Forum – I’m still delighted by them!!

Hi Gary,
Nice little series of videos you’re putting up here
You’re looking a bit of a natural in front of that camera mate.
Of course, these bite size pieces of information convey very important snippets of information. Your message today “Take Action” is probably one of the most crucial ones.
But for some reason many people prefer the “comfort” of not pushing themselves into new areas and spend their entire lives thinking “If only?”. If it is fear of failure or worry of embarrassment or whatever then they are paying a very high price for what they could achieve if only people would believe, take action and achieve.
Reminds me of an appropriate quote I read only last night
PS. Who’s your camera man/woman in all of these videos? You didn’t do a ‘deal’ with one of those ladies of the night did you
August 6th, 2009 at 10:39 am
@ Nix – Shhhh – I was just laying the bait for Otto. He calls me Gazzy – PMSL! (see if you can get him over here)
@ Garry – Parkesy! Good to see you.
Ah… Elbert Hubbard – I have a very, very old pamphlet style book of Mr Hubbard’s called “Message to Garcia” – a wonderful story. And then Sting had to come along and bugger it all up with “Message in a Bottle!”
The camera PERSON must remain a secret… for the moment. Just wait till you see some of the er… entertainment I have coming up in future videos. I’ve got loads of them.
Hey, Gazza! Remember when you were egging me on about making videos? Heh… heh… look what you’ve done! Or in the words of my favourite singer – “hey, hey, hey look wot you done!” (Noddy, of course!)
Gary

Hi Gazz,
I love these videos – shorter than a regular article, but more entertaining than a tweet!
I think Vegas provides an amazing backdrop for this type of information. People watching can get a real feel for “living the internet lifestyle” listening to you, drink in one hand, Bellagio behind you, telling them to get off their ass and be successful like you!
You don’t mind if I steal this idea when I go to some glamorous location, do you? If I had half a brain I would have done some stuff like this when I went to New York last year.
Can’t wait to see more of these!

Hi Gary:
Action, is, after all, a law of physics. For every action…blah…
Meaning: Do nothing-nothing happens-Inertia becomes impossible to overcome. Must…watch…another…Oprah…
So, the more action you put into something, you will experience not only a larger reaction, but the action itself gains more energy and momentum, the “snowball” effect, thus making all future actions easier to initiate and maintain.
Class dismissed…
Denis
Oh yea, may I mention (and link) to you and this page in my upcoming ebook, for readers to pick up a copy of your Action Planner?
August 7th, 2009 at 1:28 am
@ David – Howdy. I really appreciated this comment:
Everyone is now starting to see what my SECRET MISSION in Las Vegas was. And there is plenty more to follow.
Of course I don’t mind if you copy it. You aren’t me and I’m not you, so our videos would be completely different.
What I get narky about is when people copy what I write – word for word and then pretend that they wrote it. That get’s me really sh*tty! Coz that is copyright theft and illegal as well as immoral, dishonest and unethical.
Go for it!

Hi Gary,
Those are great looking hotels in Vegas!!
And you’re right, TAKE ACTION!! I got more free time on weekend and I’m gonna take plenty of action to catch up with Alex’s materials.

Great video Gazzman! The quality is so crystal clear and the colors of Vegas look amazing!
I think you made a point that is the biggest problem for most people. People have all of these big ideas to make money online but they never take the first step to get it started. Look at the Warrior Forum, for instance. It is filled with people that purchase every make money ebook that they can get their hands on but never take action on any of the ideas… It’s nuts.
Sometimes the most simple advice can be the most powerful!
Matt
August 7th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
Hey Gazzman,
Another great looking video.
Tell me, where could I get myself a Gazzman International shirt?! Are you going to be in Vegas for our meetup? If so, I’ll have money in hand to buy one from you!
Taking action is what it’s all about. Nothing happens until you do. You don’t get it right, just do it. What a great motto to always remember!
Keep the goodies coming!!
Joe
August 8th, 2009 at 12:01 am
@ Huddson – so long as your action is targetted you’ll move ahead very quickly. Look at this blog. There was nothing here eight months ago. Now it looks like a sprawling city. I’ll get over soon to see what you are up to.
@ Matt – Yeah. I’m pretty chuffed with the color clarity of my little Flipper cam. It’s better than the one I paid a lot of money for AND the Flip cams have a USB arm that “flips” out and plugs straight into the port on your computer – SO convenient!I bought it in Las Vegas at a shopping mall with – hmm lemme think – Adam Spiel drove us… then there was Sandra Rodrigues, JT Martin and Mike Ottman I think. Yeah – there was five of us.
Nothing starts without action – that’s for sure. But I think the trouble with so many people is that they are BONE LAZY. They want a “push button” solution. That is why so many Internet Marketers are promoting all these “PUSH BUTTON” quick fixes. They have (correctly) identified this laziness and they are preying on it… I mean… marketing to them. LOL!
@ Joe – Where could you get a GazzMan t-shirt? The GAZZMAN, of course! PMSL. Not sure if I can get to Las Vegas. I’ll certainly have my intention to. However, I have things happening over here that are out of my control ATM. After I sort them out I’ll be better placed to take on Vegas again.
If I get there… I wanna beat my previous record of being approached by 8 you-know-who types. LOL! No I don’t! Just kidding.
Thanks for the visit Huddson, Matt and Joe.
Gary

Ahhh, Hello Mr. Simpson:
“Thanks for the visit David, Huddson, Matt and Joe?”
Well, thanks a lot!
So what am I? Internet Marketing chopped liver?
The black sheep poster?
The relative who comes knocking at you door unexpectedly, so you hide and not answer, hoping that he’ll just go away?
The poster who cannot be named?
All right, so maybe the rumors ARE true. That’s still no reason to ignore me…

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Denis! – I’m sorry. I only just realised – like about 15 minutes before you came back the 2nd time that I had missed you out. People are leaving comments on so many old pages here that I have been struggling to keep up. And…
… I have a certain person who organised for me to go out last night and is again doing that ridiculous toe-tapping, arms crossed, standing at my office door with: “Aren’t you getting off that bloody computer yet? Get in the shower and get yourself dressed! Oh, and if you THINK you are gonna wear those clothes then FORGET it! Come on. Hurry up. We HAVE to be out of here in less than an hour!” I HATE that BS!
And I have mentioned it on SO many occasions – you would think that this person would learn! Especially since all the continual aggravation and constant interruption only keeps slowing me down.
And that’s all in between walking past my office and giving me the glare at every available opportunity. And that person getting angrier and angrier by the minute. FFS! Nag-effing-nag-effing-nag-nag-nag!
So, SORRY D-Man! I’m under a fair deal of angry pressure here ATM. It really does so little to motivate me to do what OTHER people want when they behave like that.
Anyway, that all being said (so you can feel what is happening over on this side)…
… OF COURSE you can mention this page, me, anything I do (good and er… bad). Anything at all! I’m happy for you to do all of that.
Loved the reference to Newton’s third Law of Motion. Just to complete it. From high school physics, which, incidentally I got a high distinction for (just thought I’d throw that in the mix too)
Hmm… maybe some impatient person under this roof needs to study that Law for herself!
So, all in all Denis… the answer is a hearty YES! Again, sorry for the oversight. Just to let you know – we are off to do some hot air ballooning – something that I should do rather well at! LOL!
Oh Christ! I can hear the angry footsteps charging down the hall agai…
Gotta go D.
Thanks. Catch you soon.
Gary
PS: The rumours could be true. Incidentally… what are they?

Hi Gazza,
Great to see another Aussie in Alex’s coaching program, even though I live on the “other” side.
It seems like you have been doing IM for quite a while now and have an extensive blog. I didn’t have time to read it all today but will return another time for more.
Cheers,
Andrew Graham

@ Andrew – Always good to know there is a fellow Aussie with similar goals.
Yep, this is indeed a HUGE blog and a vast resource for all sorts of Internet Marketing information. Hence, the name TEMPLE. The name was initially a bit of a tongue-in-cheek name but it got popular and then I kinda liked it and now it has stuck.
If anyone could read even 10% of this blog in one day then they would really be burning the turf, so to speak.
Thanks for coming by Andrew.

Wow! I did this over the weekend and it was wonderful. We had to get up before dawn and we had a person at our accommodation try to royally mess our day up by being a pedantic fool but once that person was dealt with we had a really great time.
The day started at 4.30am in the dark and we took off on our journey at around 6.00am from the Northam Air Strip in Western Australia. The balloon trip went for about an hour and a quarter and we travelled approximately 20 km in that time. The cost was AUD$300 per ride. I’ll have more to say about this soon but it is definitely a great thing to do. So relaxing. Up, up and away…

Hey Gary,
Lights, camera, ACTION! You know, the three words every director says at the beginning of every new scene they shoot.
Without Action there would be no movies.
This will be the biggest stumbling block of most online marketers. You’ve got to stop buying all that stuff, pick one that you like and take Action on it. This can be very hard to do as we all are bombarded with emails everyday with the “New Revolutionary Product That’s Going To Make You Millions”.
Stop falling for the trap and concentrate on one thing at a time. Once you’ve perfected this then you can move on to something else.
Taking Action does not just mean starting something. If you start a project and never finish it that’s just the same as not taking any Action in the first place.
Gary, you’re the only guy I know that can go hot air ballooning and never leave the ground. haha!
On a different note, I put my friend to rest last Friday. It’s been a rough couple of weeks here but I’m getting through it slow but sure. Sorry I had to put you off a bit but as you can see by this comment I’m back doing my oil rig hopping. I tried visiting a few blogs last week but I was just going through the motions.
I have now fallen way behind but you and our JV thing are tops on my list of things to get done. I’ll be in touch soon. I’ll send you a Skype message when I’m ready.
Later,
Jeff Sargent
August 10th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
Hi Gary,
I like the video; I’ve just come back from 3 weeks in Thailand and I’ve been unable to take action. The result is my blog site traffic has dropped back to zero.
At least this gives me a good case study to talk about.
Hope you had a good time in Vegas.
Keep those video clips coming ….
John
August 10th, 2009 at 5:44 pm
Hi Gary:
Yes, ballooning is great! We have a huge HAB Fesitval that takes place once a year about ten miles from our house. Anywhere from 10 -20 HABs take off once at dawn and then again at dusk. It’s so cool to see all these balloons in the air. Also, many of the balloons carry champagne in them. After they land, the tops are popped and everyone shares in a glass. Many times the balloons land on private property and then the owner, if they’d like, gets a bottle and shares a glass with the balloon occupants.
That’s my kind of sport!
As for your suggestion over at the “Portal”, to contact Garry about a pass for the new forum, alas, my email went unanswered…
As for the rumors, I will have no part in spreading the likes of that kind of moral depravity…
Denis
August 10th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
@ Jeff – First I was so sorry to hear about your friend who passed away last week and the tragic circumstances of his death. I guess the pressure just builds up to a point where some people just cannot cope with it any more. Very sad Jeff. I won’t go into it any more here but I will email you back soon.
You are correct – a job done 50% or 75% or even 99% and not executed is not a job done at all. I have been guilty of this myself – starting a big bunch of things and then just jumping from one to another and then even on to MORE things and not finishing anything off. What you said here is so true:
In my case, I have so many “responsibilities” and “duties” expected of me by so many people. Often it gets overwhelming. But even so, I do manage to get an awful lot of things done – just look at the resources I have managed to get up on this blog. And there is MUCH more to come. MUCH MORE!
Yep, we will get that little JV done this week.
Thanks Jeff.
Gary

@ Denis – I have just contacted Garry Parkes on your behalf about the forum. I mentioned to him that your ascerbic wit would be very welcome in the forum. (I’d enjoy it anyway – LOL!)
I was struggling on the weekend with all the operators and promoters calling the Hot Air Ballooning a SPORT! I mean, for 99% of the time all you do is stand in the basket and say “ooooh” and “ahhhh” – except for me, of course. I had the folks in it in stitches of laughter with a mixture of off-beat comments and well, my usual banality.
One of the things I yelled out to all the people on the ground who were waving us off was: “This must be what it feels like when you die and you see all your friends still on the ground getting smaller and smaller.”
Some bloke in the basket (who had irritated me the evening before by constantly bumping into the back of my seat in the restaurant) made some remark about throwing me out of the basket. That sure amused me. Like – as IF!
And D-Man… what’s the use of having a rumour if no one is spreading it? LOL!
Gary
August 11th, 2009 at 3:24 am
@ John – Hmm, somehow you got caught up in my spam arrester. Maybe it’s coz you are a 1st time visitor. Anyway…
… what has happened to you is that you have lost MOMENTUM. When that happens it’s a bit like trying to push a vehicle out of a ditch. You know – roll forward, roll back, bigger roll forward, bigger roll back and so on until the vehicle is free of the ditch.
You just need to add a little bit of activity every day or couple of days.
That happened to me a bit when I was in Las Vegas – unfortunately, it kinda wrecked the launch of my Twitter Muscle e-book. Nevertheless, it’s out there now – just not with the BIG BANG that I wanted to ignite it with at launch.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting here.
Gary
PS: More videos will be added soon.
August 11th, 2009 at 1:35 pm
Hey Gary,
Nice Videos, you have given some very good advice.
Taking action, that’s it plain and simple, without it,
no one succeeds.
Keep up the great information.
talk soon
to your success,
Rich Cardarelli
August 11th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
Hi Rich – Thanks. True. Some people seem to think that they can manifest success just by contemplating it.
I think the book, DVD and all the hullabaloo created by the SECRET has caused that faulty way of thinking. What the SECRET fails to tell everybody is that postive thinking is only HALF the equation. The other half is ACTION.
Regards
Gary
August 11th, 2009 at 7:10 pm
Gary,
Once again nice video. I agree with Garry Parkes, you really do look comfortable in front of the camera.
Thanks of the talk the other night. It was great. I not only learned a lot, from it, as always you are motivator and a teacher.
I meant what I said. I am a student of yours, and I know a lot of other people who are a part of this community feel the same. I always know where to go if I have a question or need help.
I also agree with you on the Secret, I liked it and I practice it, although if you don’t add action you will not get anywhere. In my latest life coaching segment this is exactly what I talk about.
Knowledge + Passion + Planning + ACTION = Results. We Call it:
QxQ=R
This stands for Quality X Quantity = Results. As you know I train for a call center so we talk about Quality of Customer Contact + Quantity of Contacts is what will give us results. We can have great Contact with our customer, but if we only contact 1 customer we will not get the results we are looking for. If we contact hundreds of customer yet don’t have any quality in each contact we will not generate the results we are looking for. It is a combination of both that will get us were we want to be.
This is true on the Internet also. We all know there are ways to send out information to thousands and thousands of people, but if that information has no purpose what good is it. I would rather contact less people and have that information be of value to those people.
Just a thought… Once again great talking to you.
Thom
August 11th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
Hi Thom – You are too kind. Really! Thanks for what you said. The truth is that ALL of us have greatness within – all I do is let people know that. When people understand it they can move ahead like never before.
I often think of myself as a flame fanner. I see a little spark and I give it some oxygen and then a bit more fuel. Not everybody is happy with this but those who are happy with what I do are generally very grateful that I have been able to help them. I use a variety of approaches ranging from serious to somewhat… hmm… “madcap” things. LOL!
It really pleases me to see people using their God-given talents. If I can have a hand in helping them use those talents to succeed then I am satisfied that I am using my talents too. That is why I am so proud of my “Power of Choice” e-book. That little story allows me to reach out and help people without me even being there – ah, the power of the Internet!
Your call-center analogy above is a good one ie – QxQ=R. Well stated.
Thom I really enjoyed talking with you on Skype too. I must have – LOL! We had a LONG session huh?
Thanks my friend. I really appreciate your comments. Pity we didn’t live a lot closer huh?
Gary
August 12th, 2009 at 12:55 am
Hi Gary:
Thanks for contacting Garry for me. I contacted him by email. Is email now the new “snail mail”?
How could you contain yourself while that little weasel kept shooting off his mouth in the basket? You show great restraint, my friend. That has to be all your years of training.
We’re getting a nice taste of Vegas from your videos. Thanks.
Denis
August 12th, 2009 at 1:12 am
Hi Denis – could you please send that email to Garry Parkes again? I was talking with him on Skype a couple of days ago and mentioned your email. Gazza said he hadn’t received it.
I think your experience (not to mention your wit) would be a welcome addition in that forum. You have a lot to offer and the more experience we have there the better IMHO.
Ugh, concerning that dill in the basket… Not ONCE but TWICE he slammed into the back of my chair in the restaurant the evening before. They were both really hard bumps and neither time did he say he was sorry.
The people who I was with just looked at me wondering when I was gonna arc up. I mean, I can handle an accident once. But this guy really jolted me in my seat TWICE while I was trying to eat – like a mini-whiplash. It wasn’t like there was no room either. There was plenty of room. He kept getting up and down to go to the rest room and the bar etc. He wasn’t drunk so I don’t know why he was doing it.
Then, the next day he arrived at the airfield and my friends did all they could to steer me AWAY from him and distract me so I wouldn’t notice. At the launching site I spotted him when he jumped out of the other vehicle. I commented to my friends, “Isn’t that the guy who…?” And they all started laughing. My mate said, “We were hoping you wouldn’t notice!” We ALL had a really good laugh at that! (As you can imagine – they have all seen me crack the sh*ts with drongos in the past)
But then…
… THEN he gets into the SAME basket as me! And then he starts mouthing off how he’d like to chuck me out of the basket for the humorous comment I made (see above). At that point he got what I refer to as the GLARE. He stopped saying those things after that, oddly enough. LOL!
I mean, I think I have a very high threshold and tolerance level when it comes to misdemeanours of other people against me and my friends but when I’ve had enough then I’ve had enough.
And yep Denis – I showed really good restraint across the entire weekend – especially at the place we stayed (another “incident”) where one of the owners became VERY upset with our party over a hideously TRIVIAL and completely P155ant thing. He just kept on an on about it and wouldn’t let it go – the dickhead! I just sat in the car while he abused all the others coz I just knew that I didn’t want to engage him in what would have been (I’m sure) an “ugly” encounter.
I must be losing my mojo, or something – LOL!

Hi Gary:
Wow it’s tough when you need a vacation from a vacation! That guy sounds like a true “idiole”. (LOL)
Spoke with Garry, all set. Thanks much.
Will be visiting there shortly.
Thanks again for your time and trouble.

@ Denis – An “IDIOLE” he was (I remember your conjoined words – idiot and a**hole). Some people mystify me. I have NO IDEA why they have to be like that.
Looking forward to seeing you on the forum then Denis.
