    Hey Gary,

Thanks for posting this video. I can definitely see the benefit of going to these seminar’s, you must get to meet up with so many like-minded people which can lead to great business prospects.
I better start making some more sales so I can get there this year :-)

    Thanks,
    Paul

  2. Gary

    Hi Paul,

Wow. That was quick. Being the 1st to comment on my blog has been a bit of a “competition” between a lot of people – LOL! I usually get a lot of comments.

Yep, start saving your pesos or roubles or lire or dollars or whatever. You will meet some of the most amazing people and they will all teach you things (eg me – how to act the fool or HRH Queen Pauls – how to partake in Voddies or Nikki Stephens – how to turn everything you say into something unintended. I’m only kidding!)

Seriously, forget the seminars the real value is in making contacts with interesting people.

    Gary

  3. Nikki

    Hmm…

“…Nikki Stephens – how to turn everything you say into something unintended. I’m only kidding!…”

    Me? With my reputation?

    I should certainly hope so!

Anyway, it was nice to see a bit of Vegas again on your video – it almost seems like it was another lifetime ago since we were all there together.

On a slightly more sensible note (don’t worry, I’ll revert back to type in a mo), I agree with your point above:

“…the real value is in making contacts with interesting people…”

I definitely found that to be true – I’ve made some brilliant contacts throughout my online adventures, and being able to meet up with several of them in the flesh in Las Vegas was just so much fun. Let’s not forget that we did actually do some very useful work & networking in between all the entertainment – as I said in the video that Alex Jeffreys took of us at the event. (That should possibly read ‘one of the more sensible videos’).

Right, back to my version of normality now, particularly given your comment about me above…

You’ll be pleased to know that this comment won’t be a long one this time unlike my last one. I do of course like to indulge in things of great length, although all too often I find that other people’s offerings are lacking in substance. Mine of course are usually lengthy and substantial, as I like to give what I hope to receive… (oh dear…I’m laughing now!!).

How’s that for a little taste?

Good video. I live about 8 hrs. from Vegas and on the strip there is always a lot of commotion, hustle and noise. Look foreward to meeting you in person at Alex’s Coaching 2.0
    Vegas Retreat.
    Glenn

  5. Gary

@ Nikki – Yep. As usual, you haven’t disappointed. Oh God, you make me laugh with those comments. You never fail to engage in the double-entendre.

@ Glenn – What amused me in Las Vegas (actually it kinda shocked me) was the way that nobody takes any notice of street signs. Pedestrians just walk across intersections whenever they feel like it – 100′s of them at a time and that stops all the vehicles whose drivers just sit there blasting their horns in annoyance. I wouldn’t drive in Las Vegas in a fit. I like everybody to do the correct thing and in Vegas that is just out the window. It’s do what you want, when you want.

The casinos are something else. The Luxor and the Bellagio and Caesar’s Palace are my favourites but I have to say – if you want to escape the craziness of the crowds and stay a few miles further out from the mayhem – then the new “M Resort” is pretty stylish. That’s probably why Mike Filsaime stages his Internet Marketing events there.

Thanks for the comments Nix & Glenn.

    Gary

  6. Nikki

    Morning TGM,

    “As usual, you haven’t disappointed”

Of course I haven’t disappointed, I always provide an excellent outlet for entertainment and randomness!

It’s my reputation you see, I have to make sure that I at least live up to it, if not surpass it on a regular basis…

  7. Thom Swartwood

    Gary,

I really like the video, can’t wait to see more. I was last in Vegas when I was 16, long time ago, I am sorry once again I could not make it.

Are you going to do more of the motivation series? I really enjoyed them also.

I too see the value of these seminars and your recommendation really gives them credibility.

    Thanks again.

    Thom

PS.. Have to finish this weeks IMFF Newsletter. Will publish tonight.

As always thanks for the help and the friendship

  8. Gary

    Hi Thom,

I have a LOT of Vegas videos. Each of them shows another dimension of Las Vegas. And they all contain the same theme – the reason I went to Vegas. They are all discussing some aspect of Internet Marketing. Some of them are serious and some of them are me just doing wacky things. Um… I know YOU don’t wanna hear this but there is even one of me in the bath (with lots of bubbles – LOL).

I intend to put a new Las Vegas video up every week or so. Yes, I will be continuing the Motivational Moment series. It’s the putting together of those videos and rendering and titling them that really takes the time. I have done 3 to date but I have another 49 of them all scripted out. All I have to do is film them.

Lemme know when the new newsletter is out and Thom – you can come here and advertise it in a comment if you want. I’m happy for you to do that – you provide quality information and I was impressed with the last one. (Make sure you number them.)

    Regards

    Gary

  9. Thom Swartwood

Thanks for the offer and I will let you know when it is done. Actually should be complete today and go up tonight.

I left a comment over at Nigel’s place and I think it may help you also.

I picked up a program called Vlog-it. It is an Adobe product so you know it is quality. It is for Video Blogging and it is fantastic.

The titles are already complete and you just add what you want to them, Music is included (of course you can add what ever you want) and what I love the most is the teleprompter feature. Type your script in hit the practice button a couple of times to get the timing correct, film the segment and it will render it for you.

The best part of all of this is the program is only $29.00 US. It is incredible for the price. The video I place on http://www.thomswartwood.com/freedom was my first attempt with this program. I am going to re-do it soon because I want to do it using a green screen background, (oh I might have forgotten it does that too), so I can put my self inside the blog page.

Check it out.. I really think it will be useful

    To your success

    Thom

  10. Keith Purkiss (Alex Jeffreys Student)

    Hi Gary,

The video sounds like the police were coming to take you away.
What had you been doing? I thought Paula would have kept you out of trouble?

Networking is great, just got back from a workshop in London and have another meeting next Monday.

Also looking forward to Alex’s meeting in London whenever that is, maybe see you there?

    Thanks

    Keith

  11. Gene

I like the video, Gary, great job on the blog ( :) inside joke). I think there are foam covers you can use on your camera to help block out the wind, unless you are using a built-in mic. You could also consider using an external mic with a cover. I am bookmarking your blog so I can come back. I could use some motivation.

    Gene

  12. Gary

@ Thom – no probs with the link mate. Glad to have it here. That program sounds good. When I reply to the comments here I’m gonna take a look. There are SO many cool things around these days it would be great to have ‘em all.

@ Keith – Paula? Keeping me OUT of trouble? More like HRH Queen Pauls getting me INTO trouble! That little lady kept me at the bar until 4.30am one morning. But she was GREAT company. That’s why I stayed there so long with her. Paula Brett is definitely a good person to know. Gee we had some fun there in Las Vegas.

Keith you never know where the Gazzman might bob up – LOL!

@ Gene – yeah. I “GET” it. I did make my point pretty well known over at the said forum, didn’t I? But I did it to HELP people. If some chose to take it as a criticism then I can’t help that. Time will teach them that I was doing it for all the right reasons and, if they persist in that folly, they will learn for themselves, huh?

During that particular video (Internet Marketing #1 – above) the wind just kinda sprang up from nowhere and then so did the sirens. I was gonna stop but decided that it was pretty normal to hear those things on the Strip – there always seem to be ambulances and cop cars and fire department trucks rushing all over the place – so I just kept going. Looking back now it was rather entertaining – like an advertisement of CSI or something.

Thanks for the comments Thom, Keith & Gene.

    Gary

  13. Nikki

    Oi oi saveloy!

I feel that I haven’t spread enough Minxy mayhem recently. Your blog is receiving far too many sensible comments as is mine, and this just won’t do.

What’s with blaming my WPT Twin Paula (hey darls!) for your misbehaviour? Hmm?

PMW in a fairly frivolous mood today…some might even say playful…

  14. Sandra Rodrigues

    Hey Hey Hey, Ozzy boy.

How are you doing my darling?

Got your tweeter the other day and got worried about ‘the legal matter’. I hope you are ok and whatever it is I hope you’ve got under control.

Had to come and see how you guys were doing cause I hd a dream we were all in Vegas again.

    Imagine that huh?

Then I come and you’ve done a video of it! OMG.

Anyway, I am a bit disheartened (sp?) right now…

Marcus (the 3 and a half y.o.) has got Swine Flu and I hv all the kids at home in quarentine for a while. I was terrified and today am much more relieved since he is doing much better.

And then had the chance to evaluate what a trial it’s been with this online business setting up for mine. It’s one thing after the other that ‘forces’ me to stop and start a gazillion times, it seems…

Anyway, I am trying to work after they go to bed but it’s been tough since during the day was hell to look after him so poorly + the baby, + Julia + the house, etc, etc, etc.

Sorry I am venting a bit. I think you can feel I am a bit frustrated.

I’ve got a lot of things ready and in place, but there are many many others still to be done before I launch the site, etc and is killing me to hv to continuously stop for a while before I can move on.

Then again, they are my life and they do come first no matter what. It doesn’t stop me from feeling frustrated though, does it?

Julia came in to the office as I was playing the video and she heard you saying my name and then the police, ambulance etc and said it:

“Mummy, does this man actually know you, cause I heard him saying your name. And why is the police after him?”

Needless to say that gave me the giggles..

BTW, how is my Mr. Giggles (Garry PArkes)? I miss him so much. I might hv to tell Alex off for making him so busy. Hv you been talking to him latelly?

Anyway my darling I just thought I pop in to say hi and go back to my mummy duties again.

Miss you lot’s and good luck with your video series.

    Lot’s of love,

Hot Mamazetta, I am Sandra of course…

  15. Paul Wilson

    Hey Gary,

Thanks for checking out my blog today, thought I’d head over here to see what you’re up to!

Great video, all those sirens weren’t the police coming to get you then :-) The van sign at the end made me laugh…LOL.

Some great info on here, I have added your rss to my mail :-)

    Talk soon,

    Paul

  16. Hilary Dickinson

    Hi Gary

Thanks for this video – trust you to get the wind, the fire and the truck advert – but I think the still, small voice of calm (or maybe not so small) is the sense in getting together with others and networking. I’m still pretty upset that I couldn’t join you in Vegas, so Alex had better get that UK meeting organised soon… (Yes, I know he has a wedding to go to!)

I know that on any course I have done I have often learned as much from the others on the course as I have from the leader – but that is as it should be. We are all a sum of what has happened to us and what we have learned in our lives. We all have so much to give. We all have things holding us back.

Sandra, I can really identify with your predicament – I know exactly how it feels. My husband came home from work today feeling absolutely awful – this is one occasion where I hope that it is ‘man flu’ rather than swine flu. And I’m trying to get ready for our holiday too!

Thanks Gary for all of your help and support for both me and Lizzie. She appreciates what you are saying to her – she’s been busy all week, so hasn’t had much time to reply to comments, but she is aware of what is being said. I need to take some of that advice too!

Anyway, although I wasn’t able to get to Vegas to network, it’s a sort of networking in a place like this, so until I get to meet you all in person, this is the next best thing. Watch out though when you do meet me…

    Hils

  17. Rob Brooks

    Hey Gary,
I know you didn’t mean to be funny, but I was laughing through your video. Trying to see if you could communicate over all the sirens and everything. And you did succeed. Yes it was great to see the view from the street and remember the magic of our group. The truck going by was funny too.
    Best,
    Rob

  18. Gary

@ Nikki – Oi oi saveloy? WTF? I thought all that happened on Twitter. Run… run… – LOL!

@ Sandy – from a saveloy to a “darling” in the space of just one post.

You had a dream? Martin Luther King had one of those and look what he did!

Hey, I’m really sorry to hear that your little ones are sick. Been through all that and it doesn’t get any easier to know when they are hurting even when they are in their 20′s.

Sands, had to laugh at this:

“Mummy, does this man actually know you, cause I heard him saying your name. And why is the police after him?”

How cute! Out of the mouths of babes and all that…

Yep, I have a LOT of videos to put up. I’ve started adding a couple of generic ones to the RH side column too.

Look after yourself and the kids. Thanks for stopping by and I will pay you a visit soon.

    Gary

  19. Gary

@ Paul – There’s always something going on over here. I’m adding all sorts of resources all the time.

Well, regarding the sirens… whenever I go to the US I always manage to get the WORST possible security dope (I mean “officer”) at the Office of Homeland Security. It wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted to “interview” me – just kidding – not about OHS though. Gee, those people are the MOST rude, discourteous, arrogant and nasty people in the US. I very much like Americans, particularly folks like Adam Spiel and Michael Ottman and JT Martin and all the rest of the wonderful folks I hung out with in Las Vegas (and all my other US friends too). But when entering the country, to be confronted by the nasty attitudes that these OHS people have, it just makes you feel like turning around and leaving. They are an embarrassment to the US. They should save all their rotten arrogance for the criminals NOT decent visitors.

I can feel a mini-rant coming on so I’m gonna leave it at that. For now.

Thanks for the compliment of my site. I work hard at it and I appreciate what you said.

@ Hilary – What you said here is SO true…

“I know that on any course I have done I have often learned as much from the others on the course as I have from the leader – but that is as it should be.”

Looking forward to meeting you one day too. And no probs re the “advice” I gave to the Lizard. I check in on her site from time to time just to see if she is acting on it.

@ Rob – WHERE have you been dude? I haven’t seen or heard of you since we all got back from Las Vegas! So I went looking for you and ended up on your blog yesterday.

I’m never worried if people laugh at my videos – either at the content or at me. I’m always up for having a laugh and a bit of fun. It was very amusing when I reviewed the video and saw the banner sign on that truck.

    Thanks for stopping by folks.

    Gary

  20. Paul Wilson

I just got an email from an Internet marketer in the UK – he said please nobody else email to complain about me sending links to videos – I won’t email any more – I thought I was the only one who hated videos – I’d rather read a pdf anyday – quicker and easier to absorb

  21. Gary

Hi Paul – Gee, that’s interesting. Well, I suppose if he is spamming out video link after video link then he would defo get comments like that. People get tired and bored and annoyed with ANYTHING that is overdone.

The problems with videos, as I see them are as follows:

1 – a viewer has to set aside the dedicated time to watch them,
2 – MOST videos are boring and tell you nothing or very little,
3 – it’s the “tao” of the Internet ATM coz everyone is churning them out.

Just for the record, I’d rather read too.

    Regards

    Gary

  22. Gene

    Hi Gary,

All your points are well taken, and I agree with you about mindless posts. I said in one of my posts in the forum that my weird sense of humor would eventually come out and you gave it a chance. But it usually comes out with people I feel comfortable with.

I totally agree with you on OHS. I think they have too much power and the folks the man the airport gates have far too little training on how to deal with the public. I am embarrassed for my country. Of course I’m embarrassed by a lot of things…especially when I forget to put my pnats on..now THAT’s embarrassing.

    Gene

  23. Gary

Howdy Gene – nice to see you here. Having a good sense of humor is an ASSET. There are FAR too many people in the world now who have NO sense of humor, they take everything way too seriously and they are VERY quick to take offence – even a gate (a small joke… no?) even where there definitely wasn’t any. To me, that is just plain DUMB!

I have been treated very rudely by trumped up wanna-be cops the last two times at LAX. And I did nothing to bring it on either (hard to believe, I know!). The first time was because we were instructed to fill out only one form on the plane and we needed two. The second time was because Jackboot Joe got furious with a Chinese lady in front of me and then just continued his sh*tty mood on with me. Where do they get these guys from?

The OHS people are indeed an embarrassment to the USA. I LOVE the American people but the OHS officers give a VERY, VERY POOR first impression of your wonderful and very beautiful contry.

    Gary

  24. Boat Rod

    Hi Gary,
My first post here and it seems like you have a loyal following. I was wondering what the vid was about? BTW the ‘lady with the torch’ is the statue of liberty…lil’ joke. :) I was just at the strip a month ago and could have gone to your seminar (If my wife would oblige) as I’ve been in IM for about a year now and still have a lot to learn.
I admire your perseverance through that video :)
    best regards..

  25. Gary

Hi Rod – Yep, I knew her name but this one is just a replica of the real statue and it crossed my mind that if I referred to her as the SOL then I would get people correcting me. Hence, that’s the way I referred to her “little sister.” Hmm, reminds me of an Elvis song – LOL!

The conditions that prevailed through that video were indeed trying but I think it all kinda added to the authenticity of it.

    Thanks for visiting Rod.

    Gary

  26. Rob Brooks

    Hey Gary,
Our interview looks real good on your blog. I’m glad people are finding it interesting. The views are going up and I’m sure the opt-ins to twitter muscle are going up. I won’t be such a stranger anymore.
